| Two weeks later | Mother had a stroke that left her unable to speak or move. Elisabeth returned to Switzerland. Tried to think of how to make it more bearable for her mom. Went to God (if there was one) and asked what he was going to do for her mom now when she really needs him ? Took Mom to nursing home where no artificial means were used to prolong life; room looked out on garden. Distributed (w/Mom’s input) her things to the proper individuals. When matched right person with right item, both sipped cognac. | |

| 1974 | Sept 12 | Mother died. During time between stroke and death, mom continued to feel and give love. In her way, she was growing and learning whatever lessons she needed to (life ends when learned everything). Elisabeth angrily asked God why she was kept a vegetable for so long; then realized it was teaching her mom how to accept affection and care (not been good at thru life). |

| Bought 40 acres above Lake Wohlfert for healing center. Gave up rights on house, furniture and offered child support; Manny paid for it and leased it back to EKR. (P 206) | ||

| Fall | Manny, surviving triple bypass, was weak. Moved him to Scottsdale AZ where climate better. Past grudges of the way the marriage ended long past. Spent some time in the hospital when kidneys began to fail before bringing him back home. He died a short time later when EKR was in L.A. | |

Discovered she had suffered another stroke that morning or prior evening while in bed. Brain stem stroke. Refused hospital care of more than 24 hours: nothing worse than the suffering caused by present-day health care (P 277 - 78). This one left her paralyzed. |
| 1997 | Jan | Wrote The Wheel of Life – acknowledgement that if she would stop being bitter, angry and resentful of her condition, and say ‘yes’ to it, she could move on to death. |
