Elizabeth Teissier astrology chart

I think the 5:58 rectification is wrong, and that the B.C. data of 6:15 is correct. This puts the ascendant between Mercury (intellect) and Venus (beauty). The sidereal navamsa for 5:58 doesn't really work, because the only angular planets in the chart are Venus/Pluto/Saturn in the 4th. These planets don't represent Teissier's life or interests.

In the navamsa, with the 6:15 time of birth, Mercury is in Gemini in the first squared by Mars in the 10th. This is a perfect description of Teissier's mental caliber and the current firestorm in her life. She's willing to fight for what she believes in. (Of course she also has the natal Moon/Mars conjunction.) In the 6:15 navamsa chart Neptune and Uranus are both angular in aspect to Mercury and Mars. We couldn't ask for a clearer picture of a modern day astrologer who's willing to go all the way in her attempt to put astrology back in the universities.

Tessier has the planet of prophecy (and wide exposure) in the 10th in its own sign of Sagittarius in the dasamsa (career) chart. She's made successful predictions and is likely to see at least some of her dreams for astrology realized.

I wonder about the rectification to 5.56 am. If we use the time as given 6.15 am it does little to change the planetary progressions but it does give a better involvement of the progressed Asc. in the present controversy AS of 24 June 2001 the progressed Ascendant under the 6.15 time would be 21d 12m Pisces and the opposition to natal Neptune in the natal ninth is within 6 min of arc. A very telling position for the matters concerned.

As far as Ms. Teissier's quoting the last degrees of Sagittarius as her Ascendant degree.. Well there is "an elephant in the living room" if we consider the situation in Europe and North Africa as well at the time of her birth. I wonder if someone close in her family had the benefit of Astrological knowledge at the time of her birth, perhaps a grandparent. In those days the smallest matters could be of concern... such as the ending of a name in .. man or mann. It is quite understandable how such a thing might occur.
I leave to my previous message the (other than Asc) progressions.

  1. Why the big firestorm now?
t.Mars is triggering a number of aspects - and in fact has been active since mid-2000 -- in Ms. Teissier's natal and progressed charts. t.Mars has provoked t.Pluto into a wholesale slaughter campaign directed against Ms. Teissier's efforts to achieve her Ph.D. With p.Mercury in opposition n.Neptune, both being sqr'd by t.Mars, creating a T-Square with the empty leg in the 6th house; so the conditions under which Elizabeth Teissier labors (6th) are currently being triggered by a kind of slanderous all-out war against her research paper. With t.Pluto sqr'g the p.ASC, even though there are those that feel deeply antagonized by her intentions -- and want to stop her in her tracks -- she will see it through no matter how intense the opposition becomes. Also t.Mercury and t.Mars are zigzagging ( sqr) n.Saturn with their direct, retrograde, and ultimately direct motion, while they simultaneously oppose the upcoming t.Saturn opposition with t.Pluto. The disagreements surrounding her research paper are bound to escalate even further. Ms. Teissier must feel like she’s on a seesaw.
  2. Will her Ph.D. be blocked?
It seems she was destined to disagree with the philosophy of the academic traditionalists (n.Sun sqr n.MC, p.Sun inq n.MC). Logically, I want to believe that since she received a passing grade, Ms. Teissier will receive her degree. Astrologically, I'm not so sure. Currently p.Venus both squares her n.ASC and conjuncts her n.Saturn showing a lack of cooperation and disappointing roadblocks from others in acquiring her sociology degree. Ms. Teissier's p.Moon is approaching an opposition with her n.Sun, which co-rules the 8th and rules the 9th, making it difficult for her to receive support for her scholarly efforts; particularly since her opponents are feeling less than charitable toward her subject matter. Her academic adversaries in number are many. This number is likely to grow, at least until the opposition actually occurs.

Forgive the expression, but I couldn't figure out any other way to express this thought: The traditional bound 'good ole' boys' club is working hard to block Elizabeth from achieving the recognition she seeks. They want to cheat her out of what she has successfully completed (t.Saturn opposite t.Pluto). With Pluto co-ruling the 11th and ruling the 12th, this club of traditionalists is politicking by way of mutual protest through petition.

Having already received a passing grade, it would be a travesty of justice for the University to deny Ms. Teissier her degree.

  3. What makes her such a prestigious astrologer?
Ms. Teissier will always want to be free to believe as she chooses. She will not be satisfied to merely reproduce what already exists (n.Sagittarius ASC). This is a person that believes through hard mental work (n.Capricorn in 1st) she can achieve (n.Sun in 1st), or at least assist (n.Venus conjunct n. Sun) in replacing old ways of established thought. Ms. Teissier is a highly motivated individual; one who is determined to make a name for herself (n.Sun Capricorn 1st). The locomotive pattern in her chart -- with Mercury the engine - adds even more emphasis to her being a self-driven person in accomplishing her aims.

Ms. Teissier is conscious of her aim, and takes ownership of her direction in life (n.Jupiter trine n.MC). She is drawn toward a need to use her mind in a very clear and concise way. Intelligible thinking and writing ability her forte. What she wants to learn, and learn well, are subjects that involve the intangible and unphysical; areas of life that are invisible to the naked eye (North/East hemisphere). She possesses a highly scientific (scholarly) mind; and in her case, it is the science of proving what can not be proven by ordinary means (n.Uranus trine n.Mercury). She wants to see fair play regarding the knowledge of human nature. Outspoken, she does not yield easily to the wishes or opinions of others; and has a difficult time in moderating her ideas (n.Jupiter square n.Uranus). She is extremely enthusiastic about advanced training in high-minded pursuits (n.Sun ruler 9th trine n.Neptune in 9th). ). Ms. Teissier has been involved in a long-standing (Taurus) love affair (5th) with astrology (n.Uranus trine n.Sun); and ultimately, would easily take a leading position (Sun Capricorn in 1st) in the astrological world. She is attracted to sociology and astrology (n.Venus trine n.Uranus).

  1. By direction Ms. Teissier's stellium in the natal first house has moved to the 10th as well as her Asc. The progressed moon in her chart is now at 7d Cancer 13m and opposes Venus located in the middle of this stellium. Progressed Mercury at 21 Pisces 32 squares her Natal Neptune..., which of course in her chart is the public focal point. Her progressed Sun at 19 Pisces 29m closely opposed progressed Neptune and is within two degrees of opposition to natal Neptune. Her progressed Ascendant at approx 14d 30 m sextiles her natal Sun thus adding favorably to the favorable exposure. These are the reasons she is in the public eye Neptune's oppositions from the natal 9th (higher education, science etc) to Mercury and the Sun reflect that communities resistance. The progressed moons opposition reflects opposition from those who would oppose her in almost any matter because of who and what she is.
  2. If the decision is during the Pluto/Saturn opposition (transiting) I suspect they will succeed in blocking her Sociology Degree, although even if this happens personally she will benefit from all the attention.
  3. If we look at prestige we can look to the stellium directed to the 10th and its associated favorable aspects. The astrological talent is clearly related to the stelliums (or at least Venus and Sun) trine to Uranus and both stellium and Uranus sextilling natal Moon and Mars. Uranus is the key to astrological talent in her chart. Her Asc is sextile and trine to the 26d Leo/Aquarius axis, which are well known degrees of Astrological talent.

I note that in the year of her divorce her progressed moon moved to opposition of Natal Uranus.
At the time of her marriage the progressed moon was transiting the stellium in her first.

I have not spent much time on this but it appears to me that these are at least some of the general indications. The position of Natal Neptune and its trine to Natal Sun as well as the Suns conjunction to Venus and trine to Uranus are all indications of her mystical public appeal and her personal beauty.

  1. Why the big firestorm now?
Apart from the Mars and Chiron retrograde phases, we have a pair of eclipses. A solar eclipse, on the cardinal axis, at the solstice point of 0 Cancer, occurs on the morning of June 20. A lunar eclipse in 13 Capricorn takes place on July 5. This pairing highlights Ms. Teissier's Mercury, which is located in 0 Capricorn, her Sun in 15 Capricorn, her Saturn in the final degree of Pisces, and her late Sagittarius ascendant. That her moon is now progressed to 7 Cancer, having just been conjunct the transiting North Node of the Moon at 6 Cancer, only reinforces the emotional and formative magnitude of this period of time. Her Mercury-Saturn square, the natal configuration closest to the cardinal axis, is projecting her, and the educational battle she is fighting, into the public eye with the timing of this eclipse cycle.
  2. Will the academy block her Ph.D.?
The forthcoming transit of Jupiter through the final degrees of Gemini and into Cancer makes favorable transits to Ms. Teissier's Ascendant, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Uranus, Chiron, and Neptune. Saturn, transiting early Gemini, recently made an empowering trine to her natal Jupiter. Yes, the powers that be may resist her writing but with this lineup, I like her chances. Mercury and Jupiter enter Cancer on July 12; I would expect some resolution of this question by then. Looking out a little further short-term, the opposition by transit of Saturn and Pluto, on August 5, comes within a degree of squaring Ms. Teissier's Mars in 11 Pisces. This general time period could mark another confrontational drama with the Academy, or perhaps with academia in general. After all, it was only a few weeks ago that John Silber, the Chancellor of Boston University, made a scathing indictment of Kepler College's accreditation by the State of Washington. By the time Mars and Chiron resume direct motion and move into Capricorn.
  3. What makes her such a prestigious astrologer?
The potential for fame is certainly present in the already mentioned proximity of Ms. Teissier's Ascendant, Mercury, and Saturn to the Aries Point or to the Cardinal Axis. Planets or points located on or very close to the first degree of the cardinal signs tend to be projected into some kind of unusual prominence in our lives. Let's look more closely at the Sabian imagery for these degrees and others in Ms. Teissier's natal chart. With regard to her Ascendant in 28 Sagittarius, Rudhyar emphasizes the need for social respectability, worth, and position. So in this most individualized point, we find the interpersonal foundation of her prestige and popularity.
Mercury in 0 Capricorn is symbolized by the following image: "An Indian chief claims power from the assembled tribe." Rudhyar adds, "It (this symbol) refers to the capacity latent in every individual to claim and assume authority in a vital group-situation." Here we find more support for her apparent power and the growing responsibility she is assuming occult "the ever-repeated challenge presented to the individual by the group in which he has claimed acceptance-the challenge to prove himself and his ability to assume responsibility effectively." What a splendid portrait of her current standing and predicament. If you are interested, read Rudhyar's descriptions of 11 Sagittarius, from which Pluto squared her Mars, and 12 Gemini, from which Saturn will shortly oppose Pluto after squaring her Mars. Another individually sensitive point supports her role and her fame. Ms. Teissier's rectified Midheaven at 19 Libra is symbolized by: "A rabbi performing his duties." Rudhyar writes in his keynote: "The ability to draw on the power of an ancestral tradition in order to serve and inspire one's fellow men." She has the capacity to focus the wisdom and beauty of the astrological tradition. Furthermore, the phase angle between her Midheaven and the location of the Uranus-Neptune conjunction in 1993 is 269 degrees or 29 Sagittarius!
The location of her Neptune in the philosophical and educational ninth house in 21 Virgo also supports her prestigious position. Rudhyar writes, "The certification of aristocratic status, ...As the French say, 'noblesse oblige.'" The remarkable repetition of a theme portrayed by the evocative Sabian Symbols and Rudhyar's brilliant commentary do not guarantee any particular outcome in Ms. Teissier's life or in anyone else's. But it cannot be denied that there exists powerful astrological support for her fame and good fortune.

All quotes and references to Dane Rudhyar are from his book, an Astrological Mandala the Cycle of Transformation and its 360 Symbolic Phases.

Why the big firestorm now?

According to Vedic astrology, the major dasa of Ketu began on August 14, 2000. Ketu is located in the sixth house, which shows hostility, opponents etc. Between Jan 10, 2001 and March 12 2002, ET is in the midst of Ketu/Venus. Venus is not a benefic for Sagittarius ascendant and rules the sixth (hostility, opponents, etc.) and the eleventh. Furthermore transit Jupiter and Saturn are placed in the sixth from the ascendant. Hostility and opposition are underscored during this period. Hence the firestorm.

Will the academy manage to block her PhD?

Probably. At any rate, she will not be successful at least until the start of the Sun sub-period on March 12, 2002. Ketu in the 6th aspected by Jupiter however, does show scholarship and writing a dissertation.

What makes her such a prestigious astrologer?

ET's Moon is in the second part of the constellation of Satabhisha, this is supposed to indicate a gifted astrologer. The reason she is "prestigious" is because she has several raja yogas and dhana yogas. Yogas are configurations of planets and manifest in the appropriate dasas (periods) and antardasas (sub-periods.) Raja yogas give fame, power and influence and dhana yogas give wealth.

Some Raja yogas in ET's chart:
She has Jupiter with Neechabhanga raja yoga in the 2nd house. The second house stands for speech, learning. It aspects the tenth, Jupiter shows a profession that is beneficial to others and success in that profession. Whatever she predicts probably comes to pass. The conjunction of Mercury and the Sun in the ascendant confers the famous Dharma Karma raja yoga--an association of the lords of 9th and the 10th. This shows the ability to reach the pinnacle in any chosen line of activity. She has the ability to apply herself and promote herself. The placement in the 1st house gives, beauty, drive, intelligence, fame. Furthermore she had the good fortune to experience the fruits of these great combinations during the major rule of Mercury between 1983-2000, and Saturn and Jupiter before that. However the DK Yoga is compromised by the conjunction of Venus ruler of the 6th and the 11th and the aspect of Saturn ruler of the 2nd and 3rd. Some would say that astrology is not an intellectually "respectable" profession.

Some Dhana Yogas in ET's chart:
The earnings are probably very good. The aspect of Saturn on Venus is a combination for wealth. In addition Moon and Mars are conjoined in the 3rd house. This combination too shows great wealth. Mark the three planets in the 11th from the Moon another "wealth" combination. This is underscored by the exchange of Jupiter and Saturn (wealth property, good clothes, jewels, and royal patronage) and note the neechabhanga of Jupiter in the house of wealth. There is no question that regardless of whether she gets her doctorate or not, ET will not suffer financially, and is probably very comfortably off.

On the other hand, she has written a dissertation. ET has a Saraswati Yoga (a combination for learning and scholarship.) Venus is one of the planets involved in this Saraswati Yoga. Hence in Ketu/Venus the furor is about a dissertation.

My efforts to get astrology recognized make me believe that most people are afraid of something that works. It takes courage to get totally involved in the universe. I hope this lady is the force that breaks into the scientific world with a bang.

  1. The firestorm is the result of Elizabeth Teissier reawakening an old conflict between faiths versus reason, the intellect versus the intuition, belief versus fact etc. Astrology was taught at the major universities as late as three hundred years ago, but with the increase of the physical sciences and an understanding of the cause and effect physical world, reason and logic are now the bias of universities, which have mostly an intellectual and material perspective of knowledge. The zeitgeist of the Middle Ages and early renaissance was mostly a spiritual and philosophical one, but astrology was rejected by the universities with the advent of the scientific zeitgeist and industrial revolution. Today, astrology is still excluded from the curriculum taught by universities. Jung and Neumann both wrote about how the development of conscious thought through the educational system has caused man to loose connection with his roots, the unconscious.
  2. A Ph.D. means doctorate in philosophy. A Ph. D. is more than just a collection of facts, statistics and research methods, but requires a coherent meaning given to data in relationship to a whole otherwise we could not invent anything new; Sociology uses inductive reasoning, speculation and theoretical thought. As a result, I don't think they can take away her Ph. D., at least not without appearing to be biased. Also, Her Jupiter is sextiling her north node in Sagittarius in her 12th house of institutions. Her north node is part of a grand trine involving Saturn and Pluto, so she can intellectually hold her own.
  3. Her Capricornian and Uranian placements have already been mentioned, so I will say her prestige as an astrologer may be signified by her Jupiter in Aquarius which is the focal planet of a kite configuration involving Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and her north node; Pluto is in her 8th house trining Saturn in Pisces giving her the ability to see the unseen, hidden, and spiritual. She has Sun trine Neptune, Jupiter sesquiquadrate Neptune in her ninth house giving her a need to express the universal, imaginary and intuitive realms.
Finally, all the latter aspects including her Saturn in Pisces, Pluto in Cancer, north node grand trine signify an inclination for her to appeal to the emotional zeitgeist.

Forgive me, for I have used Koch Houses. Saturn and the nodes are in different houses due to this fact. I think Mrs. Teissier has experienced what all astrologers experience sooner or later. Her thesis clearly states that she thinks the field of astrology is being dismissed due to the limitations of current knowledge and ideologies. Focusing on empirical data would preclude all the innate visual linguistics and subliminal information that those who are attuned to the outer planets are privy to. Mrs. Teissier isn't speaking to reporters because she is quite aware that her words would be misinterpreted. Much of the information about how she achieves her readings is not translatable into ordinary language. Once an astrology chart has been drawn, the astrologer must treat it as an archaeological dig and read all the hieroglyphics. Once he/she is absorbed in the task, associative thought predominates at some point and that is when they find all the "King Tut Treasures" in the chart. Of course, at a later point it must all be translated back into a logical form.

Astrology is a science. After all, did we not use logarithms and geometry to draw up our own charts before software became available? Astronomy is a science and we use it. The fact that a large segment of the population does not believe in astrology does not diminish the fact that we are able to look at a sheet of paper with symbols on it and access information that we could not possibly know were it not for the intuitive processes stemming from our own natal outer planet aspects. Either certain situations are occurring in the lives of our clients or they are not. Astrology is the method we have chosen to assess their personality traits, etc. They need not believe in us or astrology IF the information is correct. It's one thing to do a cold reading and then do one on someone you know certain things about. I think even a seasoned astrologer would not look at Jeffrey Dahmer's chart and think, "Hmm, I believe Jeffrey is not only a murderer, but a cannibal." You could never retrieve that kind information without a little help from your "friends" Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. Those are the planets that help you pull the rabbit right out of the hat before he even wakes up.

Neptune is the most elevated planet in Elizabeth Teissier's chart. Uranus is resting comfortably in her fourth house sextiling her Third House Mars as well as being close enough in orb to sextile her Moon. Elizabeth's Sun conjuncts Venus and trines those two planets most commonly associated with astrology-Neptune and Uranus. Her Mercury conjuncts her Asc. When I ran Progressions and Solar Arcs on her, Mercury was consistently featured as a major trigger planet for events in her life such as marriage and separations, etc. Neptune is found in her 9th house and is the ruler of her Third House Pisces planets. The Koch House system places her Pisces Saturn in the third house as well. It is in the critical 29th degree and trines her Cancer Pluto also at 29 degrees. She is on a mission and is going to see it through no matter how much she may have to suffer for it. Her Second House Jupiter in Aquarius reflects another aspect of her Uranian interests and writing skills. Most importantly, this planet is the ruler of her Ascendant. Once again, Neptune occupies the Ninth House which Sagittarius rules. The Ninth House deals with mystical visionary experiences and prophecy. These are a few of the highlights that make her a prestigious astrologer. As there are varied degrees of competency among psychics, such is the field of astrology. I know astrologers who do not use intuition in their readings, however, I would never do a chart without using mine.

Elizabeth has bucked the system before and will continue to do so. She has personal First House planets in Capricorn. Capricorn will take on the powers that be or anything else standing in the way. Her Cap Sun squares her MC (public personae), but her natal Cap Venus (1st House) trines her Taurus Uranus (4th House) which would lend a lot of charm and magnetism to her personality. The Cap planets also assure beautiful bone structure and she probably looks much younger than she is. She can be tough when it's required. Pluto is another planet in the critical 29th degree of Cancer. This makes an out-of-sign opposition from the 8th House to her second House Aquarian Jupiter. Pluto would signify the old guard and Jupiter would represent that breath of fresh air she is trying to breathe into a dying art. Luckily for Elizabeth, Pluto trining her natal Saturn will help her survive the fray.

I think Elizabeth will walk away the winner, but not without a lot of unpleasantness. She is very uncomfortable internally. Astrology has been her life and she is not going to go down without a fight. Her progressions show what is going on emotionally. Nothing really changes from the onset in early April until June 30th which I assume is when this will be resolved. I was unclear about the date from her bio.

PROGRESSIONS:
Natal Pisces Saturn 29 degrees (3rd House) is the ruler of the Capricorn planets in her First House namely Mercury/Venus/Sun. Natal Saturn squares her Sag Asc at 28 degrees. (P) Mars moved into Aires 28 degrees in April and exactly squares her (P) Pluto. (P) Mars is also within a one degree orb of conjuncting Natal Pluto. (P) Mercury, her trigger planet, is at 21 degrees Pisces opposing (N) Virgo Neptune 21 degrees. (P) Saturn in Aires 5 degrees squares (P) Cancer Moon 4 degrees. (P) Cancer Moon trines (N) Moon in Pisces. (P) Sun opposes (P) Neptune exactly. (P) Jupiter 18 degrees Aquarius conjuncts her Natal (2nd House) Part of Fortune. This may be indicative of rewards to come for her work in Astrology.

SOLAR ARC:
Her Solar Arc directed aspects actually look much more promising. SA Mars at 15 degrees Taurus trines her (N) Sun in Capricorn exactly. SA Saturn at 3 degrees Gemini trines SA Pluto in Libra exact orb. SA Moon 9 degrees in Taurus conjuncts her (N) Uranus at 9 degrees Taurus. SA Venus at 12 degrees Pisces conjuncts (N) Mars at Pisces 11 degrees. SA Mercury at 4 degrees Pisces conjuncts (N) Moon Pisces 5 degrees. Chiron is also transiting her (N) Sag Ascendant in exact orb.

By the end of June 2001, there are only two major changes. Her (P) Moon at 7 degrees Cancer (4th) opposes (N) Venus 8 degrees Capricorn. Her SA Venus at 12 degrees conjuncts (N) Mars 11 degrees Pisces. The outcome is unclear at this time.

The three questions are easier to answer if I reverse their order.
  1. What makes Teissier such a prestigious astrologer?
Astrologers generally have Aquarius, Uranus, the 11th House and the Uranus discovery degree (24° Gemini) prominent in their charts.

Teissier has the ruler of her Sagittarian Ascendant, Jupiter, placed in Aquarius not only at the head of a Kite pattern (with North Node, Saturn & Pluto), but also as part of a rare Grand Sextile pattern (when her South Node & Midheaven of 28 Virgo are included). The Nodal axis is as important in a chart reading as the Ascendant-Descendant axis. Teissier's Midheaven is the only point in her Grand Sextile that contains neither a Node nor planet. Interestingly, her Jupiter in Aquarius trines her Midheaven or 10th House cusp, and Neptune – the planet of 'the prestigious' – conjuncts the top of her Grand Sextile. Moreover, her Neptune/10th cusp/Midheaven forms the base of a Boomerang pattern – her Ninth (Academy) and Eleventh (Astrology) House cusps make a Yod with Saturn in Pisces at the apex; Saturn being opposed by its dispositor, Neptune, to form a Boomerang. Teissier therefore has her Neptune/10th cusp/Midheaven at the end of a Boomerang pattern and her 10th cusp/Midheaven at the top of a Grand Sextile pattern. No wonder she has risen to be one of the most famous astrologers in her country (10th cusp/Midheaven/Saturn), through a career involving academic pursuit (9th House) of astrology (11th House) in a prestigious manner (Neptune). All that, plus a Venus/Sun conjunction (the rulers of her 9th & 11th houses, both disposited by fame-seeking Saturn) in her first house!!

The planet Uranus does not appear at first to be prominent in the chart. However, it forms what I call the Pivotal Point in what I call a Horseshoe Shape. Horseshoe-Shaped charts have planets fairly evenly dispersed around the horoscope circle except for a vacant space of about 90 degrees. Therefore, the planets are dispersed like a Splash Shape but with a gap not as wide as that of the Locomotive Shape. If you could imagine hanging a horseshoe on a door or throwing one around a pole, then the Pivotal Point is at the center of the Horseshoe arc - at the point where the Horseshoe hangs on the door or where it meets and spins around the pole. The Pivotal Point can be calculated by finding the degree opposite the midpoint between the two planets at the end of the 270° arc of the Horseshoe. In Teissier's case, Neptune and Mercury form the ends of her Horseshoe, and their midpoint is 10°43' Scorpio (in the 11th House). Opposite this degree is the pivotal point in her Horseshoe, specifically 10°43' Taurus. Her Uranus is conjunct this point at 9°47' thereby becoming her pivotal planet. Her life therefore swirls around astrology, and also because Uranus disposits the ruler of her Ascendant (Jupiter) and because Uranus is disposited by her 11th House ruler (Venus which is conjunct her Ascendant and Sun).

To round things off, Teissier's angular Chiron conjuncts the Uranus discovery point (24° Gemini) and Chiron rules her Midheaven/10th cusp *and* disposits and squares her Neptune. I've already pointed out how important her Midheaven and Neptune are in her Grand Sextile and Boomerang patterns, particularly as far as becoming a prestigious astrologer is concerned. Chiron in the Sixth on the Descendent makes for a lot of self-criticism and plenty of external criticism. Teissier has had her astrological skills and her academic topic of astrology criticised because Chiron is conjunct the Uranus discovery degree.
  2. Will the academy manage to block her Ph.D.?
People with Horseshoe patterns tend to be quite lucky, especially when they have Sagittarius rising and Jupiter trine the Midheaven/10th cusp. With her Grand Cross (Mercury-Saturn-Chiron-Neptune) there will always be a cross to bear, but I think luck's on Tessier's side, although there will always be those who doubt her (because of Neptune being the most elevated planet).
  3. Why the big firestorm now?
Uranus is associated with storms and Mars with fires. Teissier has these firestorm planets personalized in her natal chart. Uranus is the pivotal planet in her Horseshoe Shape, while Mars conjoins her Moon and sextiles her Sun. Using Solar Arc progressions (a degree for a year), Teissier's Uranus at 12° Cancer is now opposite her natal Venus/Sun conjunction (rulers of her academic 9th and astrological 11th houses), specifically in exact opposition to their midpoint! Meanwhile, her progressed Venus (ruler of her 11th House and her Uranus) at 11° Pisces has conjunct her natal Mars. The conflict at the heart of the firestorm is between positivist (Sun) and phenomenological (Moon) methodologies. Teissier's progressed Moon will conjunct her natal Uranus at about age 64 years and 7 months (July 2002) and I think her phenomenological approach will win out, with some sort of resolution to the matter by early 2003 when her progressed Moon (still in conjunction with natal Uranus) exactly squares her natal Sun/Moon midpoint at 10°12' of Aquarius (which is associated with astrology). These challenging aspects could well push Teissier to realize her dream of establishing a chair in astrology at the Sorbonne. I hope so!

DATAB001 Elizabeth Teissier/June 16, 2001.... Mercury Rx., Planning.
  1. Why the big firestorm now?
Hey, Mercury's Rx. (Your question is "Now!").
  2. Will the Academy manage to block her Ph.D.?
    No, it's Academics, not Science!
  3. What makes her such a prestigious Astrologer?
    That... is the real Question.!

I think, it is the result of "Universal Evolutionary Intentions"! It is time for it! ...She was born to it...Her chart says so. Take a peek at her Secondary Progressions!.

Her Progressed Sun (this date) has just recently entered into the "Full" Phase, about 3 months ago, ('Revelations') to her Progressed Rx. Neptune. Retrogradations = Evolution! ...An on-going process, even in our Here/Now!

Rationale: 9th house Rx. Neptune...Neptune direct, her unconscious urges to dissolve old ego patterns in order to find a sense of oneness with all life and her abilities to transcend the boundaries of her conscious mind and tap into universal truths (Pisces = 12th house, Primary Most-like qualities - Ruler), thereby allowing a wider scope of vision (Sagittarius = 9th house, Secondary Most-like qualities - Ruler).

When Neptune is Retrograde, as it is in her natal situation, she needs to unveil the mysteries of life by attempting consciously to understand (stand-under) the realities or theories (Sagittarius - First, (primarily), behind her ideals (secondarily).... in other words Rx. = switching post-positions.

The Sabian Degrees offer a fine Celestial entertaining interpretation, ("feeling") with its natal Virgo 21 Rx. degree image: "A Girl's Basketball Team".........the Keynote reading: "Physical training as a means to inculcate the feeling of participation in a collective culture." Rudhyar's description even addresses the 'game'....."A definite type of educational activity is implied with cultural, and as well emotional overtones. It implies the training for "Group Integration".. Of a type of consciousness more specifically receptive to collective forces."

Now, take a peek at her Secondary Progressions... Program Sun, now a Pisces 19:27' (20th) 12th house of Universal truths with the Sabian Degree Image of: "A Table Set For An Evening Meal.", ......the Keynote reading: "An indication that in the end and at the appointed time the individual's needs will be met among those to whom she is linked by a spiritual (or biological) web of energies." .....the Keyword:.....the Soul finds "Nourishment" in the harvest of whatever, during the whole life, has been relevant to the archetypal purpose and destiny of the Soul - - one of the myriad of aspects of the divine creative word which began the cycle." (See above)

The Progressed Neptune, still Rx. now, @ Virgo 19:47' (opposition about 3 months ago = ("Revelations!)...Virgo 19th degree: ....the Image: "A Swimming Race"........the Keynote reading: "The stimulation that comes from a group effort toward a spiritual goal".......the Keyword......a 'technique' = "Emulation"........Not competition.

Those Sabian Degrees are awesome in their capacity to offer "feelings" for every point, in every chart. They 'speak' of/to our Universal Evolutionary Intent Ms. Teissier is the Voice. !

Her other retro gradations lend themselves equally well to this 'theme', as does the secondary progressed 4th house Moon (emotional foundations) aspect to that Progressed Sun (107:33") applying to the waxing Tredecile. (Cornerstone). The Keywords of that Sabian Aspect Orb degree reads: "Fulfilling Of Life's Responsibilities."

The degree of the Progressed Moon itself, now @ Cancer 7:00:13", Keywords: (18th degree)...."Learning Processes", the correlations go on and on!

I personally don't do predictions...(Don't need to!).... But......I do enjoy our 'Windows"........!

Later, .....Affectionately,.....Trines,....Cos

Have recast Elizabeth Teissier's chart in Koch and am addressing that version of the rectified chart with the late Sagittarius ASC. Big firestorm! Well, the rectification must be correct. One could associate having Mars go on Station Rx on the ASC to equate to a "firestorm." Mars will come across her ASC again, then transit over Mercury, Venus, Sun, Jupiter, Moon and Mars by the end of December.

Will the academy manage to block her PhD? Who knows with the French? But Mme. T. will have Jupiter going through her 7th (sometimes that's Public Relations); so that looks good for her chances as Jupiter in Cancer will make good aspects to her Pisces planets and Uranus.

Prestigious astrologer – With Sun, Mercury and Venus in Capricorn in the first house, she would be prestigious at whatever her endeavor! The rectified chart has a 2nd house Jupiter in Aquarius. How perfect for making name, fame and fortune at astrology. The Sun/Venus, Jupiter, Moon/Mars all make aspects to Uranus (planet of astrology) in the 5th. If she cannot get the academy to see their way to acknowledging astrology, no one can!

1.Why the big firestorm now.... I wonder if this calls for an astrological answer or a personal one... but astrologically, I must mention that for the past couple of months and up until September, due to an unusual retrograde pattern in Mars' path, he is sitting right there on her ascendant... along with Chiron... and very close to her Mercury, and the cardinal point of Capricorn... she is fired up and she will stay right there where she is, unmoved in her perspectives... she can really stick it, and into the eye of the establishment... her Sun is in the first house, with Mercury and Venus, she intends to be a leader and a message-bearer... I take her ruling planet to be Saturn, since the ascendant is so close to the power point of Capricorn... and Saturn here is very close to the vernal point 0 Aries... she certainly wants to be a leader and initiator... perhaps with an agenda, but with good intentions... Uranus is now transiting her third house, so she can be a real spokeswoman for new ideas, especially with her Mercury rising... but I think that there are a number of reasons why there is such a 'firestorm'... and it has nothing to do with 'empirical research'... even if she showed research in her work, it may have been ignored anyway (remember Michel Gauquelin... another French author who did a great deal of research on astrology in the 60s and 70s... he was viewed as a scientist... but most scientists neglect to mention that Gauquelin was also an astrologer!!).... It has a lot to do with the fact that she is high-profile... female... and perhaps many professionals feel their positions are threatened or that their years of hard work will be invalidated somehow if people began to make use of the intuitive sciences on a daily basis... plus astrology has a slurred name.... remember there is safety in numbers and united we stand... a lack of the standards and discipline that bind us together leaves us exposed to all kinds of literary abuse... the medical associations are solid and strong... we have no such support... we must all learn to understand astrology on the soul level... feel it... before we can truly gain confidence in its use... only in this way can we learn to respect it... the more we each respect it in this way... the more respect we gain for it from others... in medicine we can see the results with our eyes... in astrology, we must learn to feel them...

2.Will her PhD. be blocked?... I must admit there is a lot of Capricorn energy in conflict with her lone Saturn at the bottom of the chart... she has a lot of respect for established authority... I feel that she will respect whatever decision they come to... but she will not be discouraged... the message has already been sent... I am impressed by the fact that they are even giving it serious consideration... but I think she has done what she set out to do and the PhD is only a side-issue...

3.Prestigious astrologer... with all that Capricorn energy rising, she is very highly professional... very independent, a one-woman band with the Sun rising and Saturn near Aries... also all that power is sextile to the Moon and Mars in the 3rd House in Pisces (very highly intuitive and compassionate)... and trine to Uranus in Taurus (a very cautious predictor).... she may have also done well in a career dealing with money and assets, stocks and bonds... her restless Jupiter in Aquarius makes her open to anything unconventional, and she feels the urge to go against the grain (not always wisely, with Jupiter in the 2nd she would probably be better with someone else's money than with her own... !!... )... At any rate her rising sign is very strong and puts her in contact with people in high positions, and famous people (indicated by her Sun rising)... also glamorous Venus is rising and attracts lots of attention anyway, and to some extent rules her career 10th... so if this is what you mean by 'prestige' then there it is...

I wish her the best of luck and as always, thanks for the opportunity... :-)
