The interpretation of your astrology chart begins on the following page.

You will find that the interpretation of your chart is written in simple language, uncluttered by astrological jargon. If a statement appears to contradict another statement, then you exhibit these opposite qualities at different times in your life. For example, a statement that you are highly sociable and gregarious and a statement that you prefer solitude seemingly contradict each other; this means that you vacillate, and need both sociability and solitude at different times.

The astrological factor that the interpretation is based on is also given. The astrological factor is given for the benefit of astrologers and students of astrology. If you are not a student of astrology, then obviously the factor will not be meaningful to you, and you can ignore it.

If you find this interpretation of your birth chart interesting and informative, you might want to discuss your birth chart with a professional astrologer to learn more about the astrological influences on your life.

Chapter 1: General Characteristics

Your fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by the four astrological elements. Each person has their own unique balance of these four basic energies: fire (warmth, inspiration, enthusiasm), earth (practicality, realism, material interests), air (social and intellectual qualities), and water (emotional needs and feelings).

Your "elemental make-up" is described below. Remember that most people are "unbalanced" or lopsided, and if you are lacking or deficient in a certain element (or elements), it simply means that you need to consciously develop that aspect of yourself to learn to appreciate and/or to work harder in that dimension of life.

Sometimes we overvalue the element that we are least endowed with, sensing it as a lack within ourselves, but more often we neglect or ignore it. The qualities described below will be reiterated and explained in more detail in the following chapters.

Finding your life's work - a concrete means of self-expression - and discovering your place in the world is one of your fundamental challenges. You tend to feel out of place in the world, with no solid sense of security. You often live in the private world of your imagination and though you may have a very rich inner life, you tend not to actualize or do anything productive with it. The more prosaic, material side of life either baffles or disinterests you, yet you need to develop that aspect of yourself.

Constancy, patience, and practicality are qualities you need to cultivate.

Chapter 2: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others

The following is a description of your basic stance towards life, the way others see you, the way you come across, the face you show to the world. In Chapter 3 you will read about the "The Inner You: Your Real Motivation", which describes the kind of person you are at heart and where your true priorities lie. Read this chapter and the next one and compare them - there may be significant differences between them, in which case "the inner you" may not shine through and others are in for some surprises when they get to know you at a more than superficial level. This chapter describes the costume you wear, your role in life, while Chapter 3 talks about the real person inside the costume.

You are a gentle, sensitive person with a deep understanding of people and a very tolerant, accepting, nonjudgmental approach towards life. In a noisy, competitive atmosphere you are often receding and withdrawn for you are not an aggressive, forceful person, and you intensely dislike conflict. In fact you tend to be somewhat passive, to wait, watch, observe, feel and know much - but to act little. Letting things resolve or work themselves out in their own way, rather than directing or forcing your will upon them, is often your way of dealing with problems.

You may have a deeply religious or spiritual feeling about life, not in the orthodox sense necessarily, but an intuitive sense of the immensity and underlying oneness of all life, which makes so many human aspirations and striving seem rather unimportant. You need peaceful surroundings in order to flourish, and periods of quiet solitude are essential for your emotional balance and well-being.

You are also very compassionate and cannot tolerate seeing any fellow creature suffer - be it human, animal, or even plant! As a child you probably cried very easily and became quite upset whenever others were hurt, physically or emotionally. The world of your imagination and fantasy was also very real to you, a place to escape to when the outer world became too harsh, demanding, or simply uninteresting.

Because you are very giving and forgiving, people in need gravitate to you, sensing your sympathetic nature. Often you will continue to give to a person even when you realize they are taking advantage of you or becoming overly dependent upon you. You overlook and make excuses for other people's weaknesses, and for your own as well. Discrimination and self-discipline are not your strong points.

Though you may be as intelligent as anyone, you do not really have a rational, logical approach toward life, and trying to reach you through logical arguments is often futile. Your feelings, intuition, and heart, not your head, lead you, which may infuriate or bewilder your more rational friends. You certainly recognize that there is much more to life than can be explained intellectually and categorized into neat little boxes, and you have an open, receptive attitude toward such areas as psychic phenomena, telepathy, parapsychology, etc. You are not as structured and rigid in your attitudes as many people are, which enables you to see many different points of view and to accept all of them as valid. This can lead to vagueness, uncertainty, and confusion on your part - or to a very flexible and holistic way of approaching any issue.

You appear to be sweet to other people, and you know how to use charm, persuasion, and affection rather than more direct (but possibly disagreeable) methods to get your point across. Being overly concerned with appearances and surface beauty is possible. If so, you may seem vain and narcissistic to others also.

You radiate a sense of pride, self-assurance, and a definite awareness of your own importance. It is hard to ignore you when you are present, and your personality may overshadow or dominate the scene.

There is a certain intensity, charisma, or compelling attractiveness about you that may have little to do with your physical features. It's an energy, a subtle sexuality, that you emanate. Also, you tend to do everything wholeheartedly and with passion, which is quite fascinating to other people. Your instincts and psychological perceptions about others are quite incisive.

The initial impression you make on people may be somewhat deceiving, in that the way you think and your true opinions are not always readily apparent. You may try to clothe your ideas and thoughts in terms that tend to mute them rather than clarify them. For instance, you may have a very definite, unambiguous opinion, but state it in such a gentle, tactful manner that it seems you don't believe it as vigorously as you do. This creates miscommunication or misunderstandings at times. On another level, you tend to become scattered and nervous when you are out of balance. You need clarity and order in your environment to be at your finest.

You tend to suppress your feelings and may even pretend that you don't have any, therefore appearing rather cold. You feel separated from others and are inclined to isolate yourself. Others see you as a reserved, detached and serious person.

You have a strong desire to constantly be in the limelight and consider second place already as failure. Very self-confident, you have the ability to mold your surrounding to your own needs and are likely to furnish your home according to your taste.

Chapter 3: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation

Though you appear very tolerant, forgiving, and universal in your sympathies (as described in the previous chapter), you can also be very self-protective and clannish at times, as discussed below.

You have powerful emotional attachments to the past, your family, your childhood, those places you associate with safety and security and your beginnings. Maintaining a connection with your roots and heritage and keeping family bonds strong are very important to you. Loyal, devoted, and sentimental, you tend to cling to whatever is dear to you, be it person, familiar place, or cherished possession.

You are sympathetic, nurturing, supportive, and very sensitive to the emotional needs of other people. You like to be needed, to care for others, and you often worry about the people you love. You have a very strong need for a sense of belonging and acceptance, and you center much of your life around your home. You are more concerned about people and their feelings than with power, achievement, or position in society. Kindness, consideration, and tenderness impress you more than any sort of honor the world can bestow.

You are primarily emotional and your views are often dominated by your feelings and by your own personal, subjective experiences, rather than reason, logic, or abstract principles. It is difficult for you to judge situations in a fair, objective manner for your personal sympathies and loyalties usually enter in. You take things very personally, and sometimes build a wall around yourself to protect yourself from pain and rejection. You feel rather shy and vulnerable at heart. You also tend to be moody, experiencing frequent emotional ups and downs. You need to have a place and time in your life to withdraw, introspect, dream, and replenish yourself; otherwise you become cranky and unhappy with those around you.

You function in an instinctive, nonrational manner and like to immerse yourself in creative activities where you can express your feelings, imagination, and instincts. You often love to cook, since it can be both creative and a way to nurture and nourish others. You also have a great affinity for music, because it evokes and communicates feelings that may be difficult or impossible to put into words.

Your compassion, sensitivity, and imagination are your strong points. Your faults include an inability to release the past and go forward, clannishness and prejudice, and a tendency to be self-pitying when you meet hardships in life.

You have a very dramatic, creative, expressive nature and you love to perform. You enjoy being the center of attention and you seek to shine, to excel, and to be outstanding in some unique way. You are very involved in your own creativity and self-expression, and take great pleasure in developing and using your special talents, whether these are artistic, athletic, or intellectual. You have a strong sense of pride.

You are direct, energetic, sometimes aggressive and combative. You often feel that you need to fight to get what you want and you tend to have a "me-first" attitude that angers or irritates others. You are hasty, restless, impatient, and sometimes reckless.

While you do have a lot of drive, you frequently hold yourself back. Learning to endure frustration and to patiently overcome the obstacles in your life (or your own internal caution and resistance!) is one of your tasks.

Realistic and practical, you set goals for yourself that are modest enough for you to actually achieve. You are able to tackle long, difficult projects and see them through, for you possess self-discipline, concentration, and perseverance. You also have a strong sense of responsibility and are very conscientious in fulfilling your obligations. Often you do things because you feel it is expected of you.

Inwardly you are zealous and fanatical, though you may hide your personal desires and intentions, and the intensity of your feelings. You are driven by a deep inner sense of destiny and mission and an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition. You have an infatuation with power and are incredibly willful and stubbornly fixated on achieving greatness or being Somebody Special. You tend to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma, and often seek to emulate them. You have potential for tremendous good or tremendous evil.

You have a pleasant and dreamy disposition with considerable romantic imagination. You have a strong longing for love, but do not see others very clearly and may experience many disappointments in your emotional relationships.

You are well aware of your limitations and have a strong desire to go your own way in life. There is a note of gravity to your personality and you appear somewhat somber. It is not easy for you to relax and enjoy and you prefer to work in seclusion.

You tend to impose your will upon others in a rather ruthless way, but on the other hand may also be imposed upon by others yourself. You feel a constant need to fight for leadership and have a great desire to become a public figure.

Chapter 4: Mental Interests and Abilities

You are a person of strong opinions and you express your views energetically and often dramatically. You are an entertaining speaker and will embellish or exaggerate in order to get your point across. You have an aptitude for storytelling and performing. Even if your arena is only the classroom or dining room table, you put on a good show. You have an abundance of creative ideas and do not enjoy a job in which you have no creative input or voice in decision-making. You could be a good politician, spokesperson, group leader, director, or coach.

You use your mind to organize, classify, and bring order to your environment. You are interested in the refinement of your technical skills and abilities and are a stickler for details. Organizational and secretarial skills, training others in your area of expertise, or work involving teaching and communications are highly probable for you.

You appreciate aesthetics and have a fine sense of form, design, and beauty. You could develop great technical skill as an artist, designer, craftsman, or creative writer. You could also sell objects of beauty - artistic products, cosmetics, jewelry, etc.

You have the ability to please and harmonize well with others and a talent for assuaging strain in the relationship of two other people. Your sense of humor, tact, and personal charm are a great benefit to you in any work with people on a one-to-one level.

Although your tact was commented on above, you can also be very direct, even brutally frank, in the way you communicate, as mentioned below.

You speak clearly, decisively, and convincingly, and thoroughly enjoy a vigorous discussion or debate. You would be an effective lawyer or public speaker, a salesman of ideas. Others tend to listen to you and follow your lead, and you have a talent for directing people and making decisions. You also have an aptitude for writing, especially criticism or satire.

Chapter 5: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance

You respond very much to the emotional tone and atmosphere around you, and can be dominated by your fluctuating and unpredictable moods. You often appear irrational to others because you cannot always explain the reason or source of your feelings. Anyone who lives with you must accept your ups and downs and appreciate your need for times of withdrawal.

You are also very sympathetic and understand the unspoken feelings and needs of others. You take slights and rebuffs very personally and though you may forgive a transgression by a friend or loved one, you never forget it.

You have strong attachments to your past, the place where you grew up, your heritage, and family traditions. In fact, you may be unable to step out of the habits and roles you learned as a child. Your tie to your mother is very strong and you also seek mothering and protection from your spouse and other family members as well.

You crave excitement, change, and discovery, and cannot tolerate a routine or lifestyle that offers little in the way of surprise or challenge. Excitable, spontaneous, and enthusiastic about anything new, you may be perceived by others as being too impulsive, especially in personal relationships. It is not easy for you to make or keep commitments, since you don't know how you will be feeling from one day to the next. Emotional freedom is very important to you. Your domestic life can be very unstable -but you like it that way.

In love, you are more interested in a person's sense of humor and intelligence than in their physique. You like a partner who is mentally alive and who keeps you guessing a little bit, and you become restless and bored with someone who never asks questions, never changes or surprises you. Talking, sharing ideas, going places together, and learning new things together is very important to your happiness. You need lots of social stimulation, are something of a flirt, and like to have many friends of both sexes. A possessive, jealous partner is very stifling for you.

Beautiful, elegant, and harmonious surroundings are very important to you, and you have an innate sense of style, design, and form. Socially, also, good form and politeness are important to you and you instinctively avoid crudeness and dissonance.

You enjoy talking about love, relationships, art and the beautiful side of life. You appreciate artistic people.

You are extremely sensitive to your surroundings and could feel highly elated one minute and quite down the next. You tend to avoid the truth about yourself and your relationships and could have some strange or peculiar experiences in love.

Chapter 6: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals

You have a warrior's attitude - decisive, courageous, and bold. You tend to always want to DO something, even when waiting for an appropriate time or not doing something (simply letting things alone to resolve themselves) would actually be more efficient and effective. You absolutely cannot tolerate being passive or even patient about getting what you want. You feel that it is up to you to take the initiative and you go after your goal or desire very aggressively.

You are also self-reliant, do not depend on others to do things for you or help you along, and you are often irritated when other people offer advice or direction. Cooperation rarely comes easily to you. You are willful and can be quite oblivious to others' desires or feelings when you are pursuing something you want. You are highly competitive, enjoy a challenge or a good fight, and may be downright pugnacious at times. Abounding in energy and enthusiasm at the start of a new venture, you need a very positive response and encouragement to sustain your interest in it. If a project isn't successful rather quickly, you are apt to drop it and move on to something else, rather than rework or refine it. The desire to blaze a trail, to do things in a new way - YOUR way - is very strong in you. You can discover, invent, and initiate new things, but are impatient and may lack the stamina and perseverance needed to complete a long-term project.

You are a doer and an achiever. Energetic, courageous, and often impatient, you will forge ahead with your plans regardless of others' reservations. In fact, you often feel other people get in your way and you prefer working on your own. You are active, assertive, and rather competitive as well.

You have a powerful will and when you want something, you pursue it passionately and relentlessly until you achieve it. You may be so driven by your desire that you lose all objectivity. You often become compulsive, even obsessed, with doing or achieving something, no matter what the costs or how hard you must work for it. Your forcefulness may be veiled or subtle, for often you do not reveal your real aims and intentions to others until they cross you. Intense power struggles and relationships with a strong dominance/submissiveness theme are likely. You have enormous energy reserves, and are capable of extraordinary effort and great achievement if you use your energies for constructive purposes.

You know what you want in life and have the ability to define your goals clearly. Being open-minded and frank, you have a good understanding of everything. You may have been encouraged to learn to talk at an early age and now find it easy to communicate.

You have a spiritual gift or vocation which colors your personal ambitions and drive for achievement. Helping people or serving the Whole is part of your role in life. Music, the arts, entertainment, and/or using imagery, visualization, or imagination can be aspects of your work in the world, also.

Your heart is filled with love and you feel emotionally fulfilled. Professionally, you may chose a career that enables you to portray a mother or father figure. You like to be the center of attraction and want to be somebody; you like people and get along well with them.

Chapter 7: Growth and Expansion: Areas That You Enjoy

Your strength lies in your ability to be innovative, open to new progressive concepts, willing to experiment and to reject customs and traditions when they cease to serve any positive function in the present. Also, you have an expansive view of the world, one that includes humanity and not only your own small, personal circle.

You are drawn to social work, the ministry, giving your time and energy to charitable organizations, or to serving and helping the disadvantaged in some way. Your generosity and unselfishness will bring you and others much good.

You are big dreamer, highly idealistic, and open to anything. You can be extremely impractical and gullible, and will believe anything is possible no matter how "far out" or impossible. You can be an escapist, forever looking for some Shangri-La. ("Somewhere Over The Rainbow" could be a favorite theme song of yours). You need to balance your dreamy idealism with temperance and practicality in order to succeed in life. You are also a very generous, giving soul and sometimes find it difficult to limit your charitable impulses.

Chapter 8: Areas That Challenge You Or Are Difficult For You

You both yearn for, and fear, being emotionally vulnerable with others and experiencing deep emotional intimacy. Trusting others and letting yourself be known in a deep way doesn't come easily to you, and sexual inhibitions may result from this. You are very self-protective and may be compulsively secretive. Learning to relinquish control in personal relationships, and to be completely open, are important tasks for you.

Fear of the unknown, of change, and/or of death may plague you. You strongly resist changes and transitions rather than greeting them with curiosity or a spirit of adventure, which makes them much harder for you.

On another level entirely, you are very careful about joining forces, and especially your material resources, with others. You want to keep your own and other people's property and assets very distinct.

You strive and struggle a great deal with your ideals or spiritual aspirations. You may go through periods of self-denial, asceticism, and serious study of religious philosophy and spiritual practices, or you may lose heart and become cynical about religious ideals, but never quite divorce yourself completely from your idealistic concerns.

You are likely to find it hard to make decisions, looking forward to the future with great enthusiasm on one hand, but afraid of misjudgments on the other. Never quite sure about anything, you may withdraw from situations and people periodically.

Now we will discuss patterns of behavior which you instinctively and habitually revert to when under stress - a mostly unconscious process and one which you are apt to overdo because it is so familiar and thus easy for you. The direction you need to follow in order to develop balance, greater awareness, and wholeness is also described.

When under stress you are apt to close down the flow of your emotions, ignoring your needs and feelings in order to do what you perceive as your duty or simply what the practical realities of the situation require. This can lead to a certain rigidity and hardness. If overdone, self-control, self-discipline, or an exaggerated concern over what society, family or others expect of you makes life more a burden than an adventure.

Developing tenderness, caring, feeling, and the feminine, nurturing aspects of yourself is an important step in your unfolding. You need to learn how to nourish and lovingly attend to both yourself and others. Letting yourself be taken care of sometimes is okay!

The arena you are most likely to wrestle with these issues is in playful self-expression, games or sports, and creativity. Try to develop any artistic, expressive, creative potentials you feel you possess, utilizing the qualities described above.

The following are specific activities that will support you in your growth. These may or may not feel natural to you, and often there is some feeling of resistance or initial awkwardness about doing these things, but they are important on your path to wholeness.

Develop true self confidence and the willingness to put yourself "out there", to be seen and to shine. Be willing to take on a leading role, to be a hero, to be a protagonist in your own story by cultivating the courageous, active, and positive masculine qualities you possess. Doing creative work that you are proud of - anything that comes from your heart and bears the stamp of your individuality - is important. Also, being a mentor, a helpful, encouraging force in the life of someone less experienced than you are is a way for you to grow and become more whole yourself.

Your path to wholeness involves confronting the dark and hidden aspects of yourself - bringing them to light and transforming yourself in the process. Healing abilities develop as a result of your willingness to experience and transform deep emotions such as grief, anger, and pain. Also, seeing the darkness and pain in the world and helping to bring light to it without becoming overwhelmed is a significant issue for you.

You love to show off the strength you possess and you have a strong desire to dominate others. You seem to have an exuberant craving for recognition and importance and a need to influence and lead large groups of people.

You have an inclination to gossip and spread stories or could be the subject of gossip yourself at times. Your perception of partnership and family tends to be somewhat unrealistic, and you may put up a good front and pretend to have a harmonious life.

Because of rigid and somewhat unpleasant family circumstances, you are inclined to seclude yourself from others. You may prefer to live in archaic surroundings and could be interested in antiques.

Chapter 9: Originality and Imagination

Areas Where You Are Creative, Unique, Unstable, or Compulsive

You are an unconventional and innovative person, and you are seen as a rebel, reformer, or highly unusual in your manners, appearance, or attitudes. You enjoy being unpredictable, and you do not conform to the standards that other people have set. Above all, you are an individual, and you do what you please regardless of customs and norms. Your environment and life circumstances may change frequently and abruptly.

You have a sensitive physique and may have allergic responses and sensitivities to foods, medicines, or anything you take in from the environment. Emotional stress and confusion seem to affect you physically, even more quickly than they affect other people.

You have very strong creative forces and whatever you do, you want to do to the fullest. In love and romance, you get totally, passionately, even obsessively involved. In other forms of creative release and self-expression, also, you are very driven and you have a deep need to prove yourself. Your desire for personal recognition is compelling, and if you do not achieve creative success, you may try to force your children to fulfill your dreams for you.

You are subject to great tension one moment and suddenly released the next. You prefer to go your own way, but your attention span is short and you excitedly start something new and then just as quickly move on to something else.

Strongly self-oriented, you may find cooperation with others difficult, if not impossible. You tend to have a quick tongue and a big mouth and it is easy for you to get into fights or quarrels whether you cause them or not.

You tend to be quite pessimistic and may feel that life is difficult and your path is to work hard. You are inclined to repress your emotions, cover up, and give the impression of being quite withdrawn and cool.

Chapter 10: Generational Influences: Your Age Group

In this chapter we will discuss characteristics and traits of your generation. Of course, you may not share all of the characteristics of your generation, but you are greatly affected by the tone that is set by your generation.

The first topic is "The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group". In this section we will describe a deeply felt urge, even compulsion, of your age group. This deeply felt drive comes to the surface with great force and power, and consequently leaves in its wake considerable upheaval and change. The second topic is "The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group", that describes the dreams, fantasies, and spiritual aspirations of your age group. The third and last topic is "What is New and Different in Your Age Group", which describes areas in which your age group tends to be innovative, inventive, unusual, and also where it may be unstable and unreliable.

The characteristics described below may affect a group of people for anywhere from a few years to about 30 years. There are one or more different astrological factors described in each of the three sections below.

The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group

You are part of a 25 year group of people who have strong feelings for home and country. You are a sentimental group, and feel deeply attached to your family and your country. You cling to the familiar, are distrustful and fearful of different cultures, and consequently a great deal of racial and ethnic prejudice is common among your age group.

Your need for closeness and togetherness runs very deep and causes you to bond closely to family members and old friends, and also makes you prone to be involved in mass movements and group activities because they feed your largely subconscious need for acceptance and support by others. Unfortunately, your age group is easily carried away by a group frenzy and many of you often lack the integrity or courage to think and act in an independent and rational way.

Your generation is very emotional and tenderhearted. Many of your group sacrificed a great deal to help your children or other family members, while other generations are unwilling to give as much as you have. Your tender feelings and regard for the well-being of others can spur your age group to make contributions towards the feeding of the hungry, care for the neglected, and support for the needy, particularly children and mothers. You are a group of people with a strong heart and a helpful hand. Many of you have parents and/or children who are not nearly as supportive and helpful; many of your contributions are not completely appreciated or even go unnoticed.

The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group

You are part of a 14 year group of people that have a very vivid and colorful imagination. A love of color, fashion, and drama is very strong. Your generation gave tremendous impetus and growth to Hollywood movies and other spectacular arts. Most people of your age group have many fantasies and naive, starry-eyed ideas about movie stars and other idols. Needless to say, this tendency to idolize someone can lead to big disappointments and those of you who married early in life projected your fantasies on your spouse, and had to gradually face the realities as you matured.

What is New and Different in Your Age Group

You are part of a 7 year group of people who are very creative in the arts, music, literature, and philosophy. Your age group draws upon some new inspirations and has a talent for weaving many seemingly disparate styles into a new, refreshing synthesis. Much of the creative inspiration of your period is very refined and sensitive, and some of the greatest artistic and literary works of your generation will receive full recognition only after many decades have passed. You are a group that is primarily concerned with the quality of your creative endeavor rather than its distribution and marketing.
