Introduction
The report that you are about to read is a first step in decoding the symbolic language of your birth chart. It explains the raw materials that you have been given for building a life. It outlines how the overall shape of your chart reflects the overall shape of your personality, what your greatest challenges are likely to be, the strengths you have been given to meet these challenges, and the main arenas you are given for playing out your life’s drama.

In this report you may notice certain places where the information seems to be contradictory. This is to be expected, because people are complex. For example, in some situations we are shy and in others, aggressive. When you see repeated patterns, though, take special note: these are apt to be the dominant themes in your life.

The Main Emphasis in Your Chart
The general distribution of planets around you at your birth is one of the things that shows the overall shape of your personality. Before taking a closer look at the details, let’s stand back for a moment to see whether your chart contains any obvious emphasis in a sign, group of signs, or other division of the horoscope wheel.

Most planets are in the eastern half of the chart.
You prefer to be in charge of your own destiny, rather than following someone else's dreams, adventures, projects or proposals. This tends to make you an outgoing, active person, in charge of your affairs. Independent and outwardly directed, you are conscious of the direction in which you lead your life. An entrepreneurial pursuit of some type will find you at your best. You need followers to help you, so be sure that you attract those who are willing to follow your vision. Be clear, however, as to who is in charge. Joining forces with someone as strong-minded as you may cause the kind of stress that will distract you from your goals. Make all possible allowances for practicality; and then go ahead and pursue your vision.

Most planets are below the horizon.
Your personal sense of identity is very important to you. Who you are and where you have come from are constant sources of interest to you. Your understanding of your cultural heritage and family roots will help you to determine your direction and goals in life. You feel that answers to important questions can best be found within, rather than in the outer world or in a relationship. Self-awareness and self-composure allow you to be self-assured in your career and relationships.

There are many planets in Fire signs.
With many planets in either Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, you are likely to be one of the original self-starters. Passionate and full of strong feelings and ideals, you do not need external stimuli to get you moving in new directions. Drama is your mantra. Perceiving life as a game with high stakes, you are just as passionate when you win as when you lose.

In many ways you act and feel as if the world revolves around you, and sometimes it does. You tend to dominate your sphere, and when you come across other Fire types you instantly like or dislike them with no feelings in-between.

You are devoted to your ideals and beliefs, and will play the game to the end, displaying your boundless enthusiasm no matter what the outcome. You despise static, unchanging and unyielding situations, and will put forth your best efforts to change them. With your courage, energy and dramatic flair, you can be an effective leader, and will be the first in line to explore uncharted regions.

Your tendency to act first and think later, however, may lead others to accuse you of insensitivity. Learn to be more aware of others’ feelings. Realize that your actions affect others’ lives in ways that you may not have considered. Remember to develop sensitivity and appraise situations intellectually before you act with your heart.

There are few or no planets in Earth signs.
With a marked lack of planets in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn, you may find it difficult to handle the practical, everyday details of living with any degree of grace. Practical knowledge is not one of your higher priorities, and you may not particularly like doing things that require hands-on manipulation. You tend to be either unconnected with the day-to-day reality of your life or to make plans that reality dictates cannot come to fruition. Because you dread taking on everyday responsibilities, you may do things that others judge to be childish or irresponsible.

Establishing good habits for daily living will help smooth out some of your inconsistencies. By taking the time to stick with a plan, regimen, or project, you will learn the value of creating things that last. Otherwise you will tend to drift from one idea or concept to another without really settling down and experiencing life on its most fundamental level. Try also to develop your sensual side. Take the time to feel, smell, taste, and physically experience things. Doing this will help keep you in focus and connected to the larger world around you.

There are many planets in Water signs.
With such a strong emphasis in signs like Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, you tend to move forward in life guided primarily by your feelings. Living in a world of emotion and change, you are extremely sensitive to “vibes.” When you are overwhelmed with feelings, the reality of a situation is of little consequence, and intellectual abstractions have no meaning for you. You may misunderstand the passions of others, thinking that such outbursts are real emotional expressions when these people may be just trying to get your attention.

When you encounter negative emotional situations, it is best to get out immediately, because you tend to mirror whatever vibrations are occurring around you. Then you react unreasonably and create problems for yourself. When, instead, you are surrounded by emotionally healthy situations, you become emotionally healthy.

A motherly person, you can be extremely compassionate, empathetic and protective of those in need. This is because you sense things in an unthinking way. Learn to trust your emotions, intuitions, and psychic ability, because they are usually correct.

Do not, however, trust your fears. You probably have many, but they tend to be irrational and compulsive. Since you can become irrational when you carry your expression too far, learn to trust the middle way and not take things to the extreme.

Your great strength is your empathy with others. If you heed the unsaid influences in every situation, this talent will give you an edge in business, love and play.

There are many planets in Fixed signs.
Your strong emphasis in signs like Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius gives you the persistence to bring any project to its conclusion. You are the one who can be counted on to do whatever must be done. A preserver of old traditions and customs, you know that forward progress can occur only if there is a firm foundation to begin with. You are glad to build that foundation. Be aware, however, that others may sometimes view your noble persistence as stubbornness, cussedness or pigheadedness.

Aspects: Keys to Your Inner Drama
In your birth chart, the Sun, Moon and planets play the central role. They are the actors in the drama, the moving figures on the stage, each with a character of its own. How these characters relate to each other, whether and how they clash or harmonize, whether they bring out each other’s best or worst qualities, is shown by the aspects, or angles, between the planets.

Is the ongoing drama between two planets a continuing tension that periodically erupts into crises (conjunctions, oppositions and squares), a harmonious alliance where the two planets aid and abet each other (trines and sextiles), an uneasy truce full of ambiguities (certain other aspects in neither of these families), or simply indifference (no aspect at all)? Below you will see which pairs of planets are in aspect in your chart.

Each of the following sections lists the aspects in order of their general importance, with aspects involving the Sun, Moon and fast-moving planets coming first. You can get a further idea of their importance in your particular chart by going to the aspect table at the beginning of this report and finding the five or so aspects with the smallest number of degrees and minutes in the “The orb is” column.

Your Major Challenges
We start with your conjunctions, oppositions and squares because these tend to point out the challenges that you have been set in life. Mose people experience these aspects as problems, at least at first. Armed with awareness, however, you can come to view these so-called “ hard” aspects as the blessings that they really are. These are the forces that spur you forward. When you face the challenges that these aspects pose, you grow in strength, confidence, wisdom and maturity.

Sun conjunct Mars
Action is your first name and aggressiveness is your style. Once you decide you want something, you go for it — full tilt, at a hundred miles an hour, and damn the consequences. Your courage may never be doubted, but your lack of tact, grace and practicality may be issues that concern you throughout life. Though it may be difficult to do, it is worth while to try to control your impulsiveness and that temper of yours which continually gets you into hot water.

Venus conjunct Ascendant
You have such a charming, warm, engaging and sincere personality that others immediately like you. Your popularity stems from your own need to socialize — you like others as much as they like you. A strong sense of fairness and appropriateness and decorum makes you the ideal peacemaker and diplomat. You will go out of your way to make everything around you harmonious and tranquil.

Mars square Neptune
You find it difficult to concentrate on the here and now aspects of living in the real world. You often experience very low energy levels and must be careful of your health because you cannot easily fend off infections. Your tendency to self-denial can allow you to fall prey to unscrupulous types who play the “victim” in order to get a free ride from you, the “savior.” Try to avoid the tendency to tell falsehoods (to yourself and others). At your best, your heightened inner vision allows you to have access to transcendental truths — try to share them with others.

Jupiter square Pluto
You have such an enormous drive to be successful that you usually can marshal the resources and energy necessary to get you where you want to go. But, sometimes, you become so impatient to reach the goal that you lose all sense of tact and diplomacy and you become intolerant of the wishes and desires of others. When you try to bowl them over with less than ethical tactics, you find that you meet more and more resistance as you proceed. This, of course, is counterproductive. Learn to relax a little and others will not see you as so much of a threat.

Saturn square Midheaven
You are such a perfectionist and are so self-critical that you rarely can measure up to the high standards you have set for yourself. This causes you to withdraw emotionally because you can never seem to please yourself. When you experience these feelings of inadequacy and alienation, it helps to seek the counsel of a respected friend or advisor. Once you examine the facts of the matter, you probably will see that you have much to be proud of. Try to lower your self-expectations a bit.

Chiron opposite Uranus
Due to separation from a parent or lack of communication in your earliest environment, you have difficulty in sharing and opening up to others. Creative, independent and yet high-strung, you will be successful so long as you develop patience and refrain from being provocative. Asserting a contrary opinion or taking an unpopular stance for the sake of rebellion can be as disruptive and destructive as it can be creative and productive. As life goes on, you will get the knack of being spontaneous without provoking others.

Your Sustaining Strengths
Trines and sextiles tend to work with a natural harmony that calls for little effort on your part. They show the things that you just seem naturally good at. Usually they point to the more positive parts of your nature, and act as support that you can call on in difficult times.

Because these aspects are so comfortable, they are not likely to push you to expand your limits or cause you to change. It is actually helpful to have a balance of hard aspects (like oppositions and squares) to stimulate you to grow, and soft aspects (trines and sextiles) to ease your passage and provide places to rest.

If you are blessed with a predominance of trines and sextiles, your life may tend to be placid and your nature serene. If so, remember that the world around you is probably sorely in need of these qualities that are yours to bestow.

Sun trine Jupiter
Your positive attitude is usually sufficient to allow you to do whatever you think will let you grow, expand and evolve at a reasonable pace. Your balanced outlook keeps your schemes and plans within the realm of reason — most of the time. But, at other times, you get a bit sloppy and extravagant because you tend to think you can get away with just about anything. When you notice this happening, just pull in the reins a little bit — you’ll get where you’re heading, perhaps a little slower than you’d like. And then, my friend, on to the next challenge ...

Sun sextile Saturn
You have the rare gift to be able to be counted on by others. You are known for your steadiness, your practicality, your maturity and your inclination to accept responsibility. Even as a youth you were able to be trusted to do what was right. You enjoy being dependable and expect the same from others. You have very high and strict standards of correct behavior.

Sun trine Chiron
A born leader, you are highly driven and are capable of achieving everything you want in life. A touch of humility, however, may be in order before success is yours. At times, being in charge is frightening because you know that you can easily abuse power. Instead of cowering from the responsibility, take advantage of your impact on others by working and fighting for your ideals. It is your ability to command the loyalty of others enables you to achieve all that you desire.

Moon trine Venus
Your grace, beauty and sincerity attract others to you. You are like an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the midst of most other people’s stresses and tensions. You deeply care about the needs of others and go out of your way to provide rest, safety and nurture. Your strong sense of what is aesthetically pleasing will allow you to be either an artist yourself or, at the very least, an admirer of the arts. But you are not very aggressive and tend to let life come to you. Should you find things getting repetitive and boring, make your daily routine more varied.

Moon sextile Mars
You are honest and forthright in expressing your convictions. No one will ever accuse you of being wishy- washy. You love a good contest (or fight or argument) and you get very emotional with respect to putting your point across. Because you anger easily, be careful not to get too caught up in things if you meet a lot of resistance. But, if allowed to fully speak your mind, you usually recover your equilibrium fairly quickly.

Moon trine Ascendant
You are known for the easygoing manner in which you deal with others. Your sincere attentiveness to their needs makes you the ideal person to be in positions that demand a great deal of public contact, including sales, public speaking and politics. Your honest, if at times unrestrained, manner appeals to the better nature of people and allows them to trust you implicitly.

Mercury sextile Uranus
You have a quick, agile mind. When you make fast decisions, they are usually correct, given that enough of the relevant data is available to you. It is not that you are intuitive, you just have a knack for making sense of mountains of seemingly irrelevant details. You are also naturally curious, and need constant new input to satisfy your love of the unique and different. An anti-establishment type, you delight in finding original and unusual solutions to problems.

Mars trine Jupiter
Others regard you as lucky because good things seem to happen to you consistently. But you realize that it is not luck at all. You are not afraid to work hard to achieve your goals. Also, because you tend to think big, your successes are noteworthy. A positive attitude toward everything and the will to succeed assure you of being in the right place at the right time. This allows you fearlessly to seize the moment. Perspiration and foresight, not luck, are your answers to how to proceed in life.

Saturn trine Uranus
You are known to be able to take on a tough task — one where everything seems to be filled with tension, with opposing forces threatening to pull everything apart — and bring about a reasonable sense of order and structure. But, once things are going along smoothly, you lose interest in the project. You need both tension and structure in order to feel like you are alive. To paraphrase the old Chinese saying: “You love to live in interesting times.”

Saturn sextile Chiron
You are no stranger to hard work, effort and discipline. You must, however, strive for self-confidence and belief in yourself. Don’t go through life thinking that you are misunderstood. Learn to express your feelings and to ask for assistance when you need it. Infinitely patient, focused and persevering, you can weather any storm, accomplish what you set out to do, and overcome any obstacles that cross your path.

Neptune sextile Pluto
You, and society as a whole, are witnessing a gradual spiritual transformation that affects everything that you encounter. A solid foundation for protecting the rights of individuals (and especially the underprivileged) was being laid in the era when you were born, so that those in the future will have an equal opportunity to grow, evolve and gain greater understanding.

Pluto trine North Node
You have a certain charisma that attracts other like-minded people to you. This allows you to use their energy constructively to bring about the sometimes quite radical changes that you feel need to happen. As long as you keep your goals high-minded and don’t allow all of this power and influence to go to your head, you’ll be able to accomplish most of your long-range goals in your own lifetime. Those that you know will assist you in gaining the ends that you seek.

Rounding Out the Picture
Two other families of so-called “minor” aspects add yet more information about the way the planets relate to each other in your chart. Semisquares and sesquares (also known as sesquiquadrates) share the dynamic, crisis-prone nature of the square but need to be quite exact in order to be felt.

Semisextiles and quincunxes connect signs that are totally unrelated to each other. They can have an odd, unsettling quality, indicating problems or issues that it’s hard to get a grip on. They are like interesting puzzles that call for a creative solution.

Sun semisquare Venus
You are physically very attractive. Usually this a blessing, but at times it causes you problems. There are times when you would rather not be noticed, but this seems to be impossible and you appear to be your own worst enemy. This may cause you to feel uncomfortable and angry and insecure, and you will find it difficult to articulate your feelings because you are shy and soft-spoken by nature. Be aware that this will be a continuing problem. Learn to use it to your best advantage whenever possible and try to develop strategies so that you can maintain your privacy and peace of mind.

Sun quincunx North Node
Community service is likely to occupy much of your time and energy, and you find it both a blessing and a curse. You see that you can actually make an impact by doing it, but tend to regret how much time this activity takes away from your home, family and loved ones. You may grumble about what you’re doing, but your associates usually just give you a wide berth because they know that you don’t really mean it. Try not to let your anxiety and tension show to those you are attempting to assist, as they don’t need more unpleasantness in their lives. You might feel more comfortable working behind the scenes.

Sun semisquare Ascendant
You are so self-directed and self-confident that you often find it difficult to relate to those who are important in your life. Whether it is your spouse or business partner that must bear the brunt of your self- centeredness, relationships are going to be difficult to maintain if you continue in this path. You must learn to try to listen creatively to the needs of those with whom you associate and build their needs into your own if you are going to be the success that you desire to be.

Moon sesquare Saturn
You have a cool, objective and taciturn approach to life. You are uncomfortable with situations that demand some kind of overt emotional response from you — some sort of spontaneity. But this is not your style — you prefer to make emotional decisions only after long and thoughtful deliberation, weighing all of the alternatives carefully. You would much rather be “right” than make a fool of yourself.

Moon sesquare Midheaven
You tend to proceed toward your life goals only if there are emotional considerations attached to them. You must feel that your sense of security and peace of mind would be threatened if you do not motivate yourself to move forward toward some sort of clearly realizable goal. As such, you tend to make major life decisions that are not always rational and logical and that you sometimes regret later on. But learn to trust your instincts as they are often correct — the heart has its reasons, too.

Mars semisquare Uranus
You have a unique and daring approach to life. The more dangerous and risky the path, the more it interests you. As such, you may be more prone to accidents than others and it would be advisable for you to observe whatever safety precautions are common to your field of endeavor. Your life will be exciting and filled with many changes and setbacks, but you will always recover and come back for more.

Mars semisextile Pluto
You have a very strong will and usually nothing stands in the way of what you want to do. But, more often than you would like, there are very strong forces of resistance arrayed against you — it seems like everyone is out to get you. The reason for this is that you are quite often out of touch with the fact that the tactics you use to get ahead in the world are often manipulative and underhanded, if not downright brutal. Of course, strong resistance will appear to combat such a way of doing things. The way out should be obvious — try to be more reasonable, tactful and diplomatic. Consciously try to make friends as you move toward your goal — they will help shield you from those that you accidentally offend.

Mars sesquare Chiron
Instead of lashing out and hurting others, you may become self-destructive and inadvertently sabotage situations and relationships if they do not go your way. Learn patience, and if you hit a snag or do not immediately succeed, don’t get discouraged or angry. Just move on to something else. Don’t hold on to any anger that you might feel about not getting the job done. Rather than punish yourself for making mistakes, learn from them and try again.

Chiron sesquare Neptune
Prone to inertia and depression, you may identify with those who do not fit in with the rest of society. You tend to escape from societal pressures with alcohol, drugs, food, sex or other things that provide a temporary sense of well-being. In order to start afresh, you may relocate several times. In the end you will learn to take the bull by the horns wherever you are. Talk therapy, a medium that helps you to unload fears and anxieties, may be helpful.

Chiron semisextile Midheaven
Rather than run from a situation in which you must take orders, take advantage of the opportunity to learn skills that can expand your horizons. Playing the victim is a thing of the past. Unless you take control of your life, you will never fulfill your lofty ambitions. Thinking positively and surrounding yourself with supportive friends will drastically improve your resolve.

Houses: Bringing the Planets Down to Earth
The positions of the planets in the zodiac, and the aspects between the planets, are nearly the same for everyone born on a given day. But the houses reflect how the planets were arranged around you and you alone, at a given hour and minute, and at a given place on Earth. Houses therefore personalize the planets, showing how they relate to your own particular life.

The meanings of the twelve houses echo those of the twelve zodiacal signs, but are more specific and concrete. For example, the second sign, Taurus, is much concerned with the material world, whereas the second house deals with your actual possessions: how you feel about them, and how you acquire them.

The house delineations that follow show how the affairs of each house are flavored by the sign that lies on its cusp. Since houses are sometimes larger than signs, a house may also have one or more signs completely enclosed or “intercepted” within it, in which case you will find additional material about the intercepted signs in a house. Most important, you will learn below in what areas of life the planets — the main actors in your drama — are disposed to be most active, and how the way each planet operates is influenced by both its house and its sign.

House 1: Your Interface with the World
The first house focuses on the basic equipment that you have been given for interacting with the world: your body and your physical constitution, your face, your appearance, your personality, mannerisms and the way you present yourself. It may not be how you see yourself, but it is how others tend to perceive you, and you should be aware that it has an important effect on how you are accepted in social situations. Planets in the first house tend to be strong and “out-front,” especially when they are close to (that is, conjunct) your Ascendant.

Cancer on the First
Very sensitive by nature, you prefer to be in your own familiar surroundings. Cautious and conservative, you make changes in your life very slowly, if at all. Though you do not open up easily to strangers, you tend to make lifelong friendships. Once given, your trust is forever, and you are very sentimental. Your mother, your childhood home and your early family life are of paramount importance to you. You have a strong need for security, in the sense that you are being loved, nourished and protected. When you feel self-confident, you are gentle, giving and protective of the needs of others. But when you feel insecure or threatened, you become overly sensitive to criticism, shy, withdrawn and moody.

No planets in the First
You have no planets in the first house, which means that the way that others regard you is not usually a major issue for you. Look to the house position of the Sun, Mars and Saturn to learn how your sense of personal identity is integrated into your overall character.

House 2: What You Own and Value
The second house goes a step outward from your own person and has to do with resources that you possess, including money. It shows your attitude toward what you own or would like to own: what you crave and covet, what you most value, how you go about getting it, how you take care of it, and whether or not you hang on to it. By extension, it can also indicate your sense of values: not just material things but also the attitudes and ideas that you hold dear.

Leo on the Second
You devote a great deal of time and energy to accumulating personal possessions and property. You have a great flair for the dramatic and you want whatever you define as “yours” to bear that stamp as well. You prefer lush, elegant, posh surroundings. Quite ostentatious at times, you are very conscious of the fact that your home and clothes are props which assist you in presenting yourself to others — and you delight in finding just the right setting to properly display yourself. For you, meals are banquets and casual get- togethers become grand and important events. Life is fun and brilliant, especially when your budget can afford it.

Sun in the Second
A very strong sense of values is your hallmark. You will go to great lengths to make sure that you are secure and to see that whatever you have staked out as your “turf” is protected from outside influence. This applies equally to the material things in your life as well as to your cherished concepts and ideas. It is necessary for you to feel comfortable in your surroundings — what is known and familiar is very important. An inveterate collector, you are very possessive about what you own. Try to learn to share with others and make sure that your possessions and values are worthy of you and are not just outworn pieces of junk from yesteryear.

Sun in Leo
More than a bit of a showoff, you love to be the center of attention. But others do not usually mind because they tend to enjoy your genuine warmth and affection. Very spirited and willful, proud and self-important at times, you demand your own way. You are quite honest, however, and the respect of others is very important to you. You never compromise yourself and you pursue your goals with persistence and dedication. Your regal presence and demeanor draw you to positions of leadership and authority. But beware of being overly hardheaded, domineering, ostentatious or patronizing or you will lose the goodwill and admiration that you enjoy. Very theatrical, you live life on a grand scale wherever and whenever possible. Your strength and energy vitalizes those who come in contact with you.

Mercury in the Second
You value practical ideas. Your innate cleverness helps you to make money by using your wits, and you enjoy the challenges involved in making money. It’s important to pursue specialized skills training or an advanced education, because you are a good learner and will be able to apply what you learn to advance yourself in whatever field you choose. Excellent careers for you to explore include teaching, writing, radio, TV and other jobs involving communication.

Mercury in Leo
You appreciate truth and honesty, not only practicing it yourself but also expecting it in others. You are usually convinced that your own ideas are correct, and you enjoy persuading others of their correctness. In fact, you can be stubborn about your beliefs and principles, and can get defensive when they are challenged. You also have a talent for organizing, directing and planning, and take delight in being asked for your advice and counsel.

House 3: Your Immediate Surroundings
Going a step further out from your own body and possessions, the third house has to do with your immediate surroundings and how you interact with them. The first “social” house, it describes brothers and sisters, neighbors and anyone who just happens to be near you on a daily basis. It also describes daily communication and transportation: letters, phone calls and emails, and routine journeys such as commuting to shopping, school or work. The first “mental” house, it governs early education and basic skills training, paving the way for higher education in the ninth house which is directly opposite it in the chart.

Leo on the Third
You have the ability to take your words and opinions and make them seem very important and significant when you communicate them to others. Generally speaking, you have an air of honesty, uprightness and dignity about you that seems to give what you say extra weight. And you do speak well — the high tone and correct grammar of your speech adds to your overall aura of good taste and authority. You love to be the center of attention in whatever you do — you have a tendency to be a bit of a showoff. Be careful that what you say and do has real substance to it or others will soon regard you as an amusing buffoon and not the authority that you purport to be.

Mars in the Third
Intellectually, you tend to be extremely aggressive. You love to argue and debate. When anyone tries to change your mind about something, you resist strongly, stubbornly and defiantly. At times, your defense of your cherished ideas is so impassioned that you lose all sight of reason and logic in your arguments. You tend to be more interested in winning the argument than in gaining understanding. You have such a strong ego that fights with relatives and close friends and neighbors may be part of your daily life.

Mars in Virgo
Very careful and systematic, you pay great attention to details. You seek perfection and sometimes get bogged down searching for the ultimate when adequacy would have been sufficient. You dislike abstractions, preferring whatever is practical, useful and demonstrable. You have a strong and enduring sense of personal responsibility, and you demand that others be as responsible and upright as you are. Very critical of yourself and others, sometimes you carry this too far and become intolerant of others and their right to choose their own lifestyles.

House 4: Where You Come From
Being at the very bottom of the wheel, the fourth house is both where you originate and where you come to rest. As such, it describes your parents and ancestral background, and later the home or protected space into which you retreat each day for nourishment and sleep. A deeply personal house, the fourth is concerned with security and peace of mind, the safety of loved ones, and how you care for others and yourself. The place of your roots and the earth beneath your feet, the fourth house rules the house or apartment where you live and also real estate in general. In your trajectory through life, the fourth house shows your origins and where you are coming from, just as the tenth house and Midheaven describe your career and where you aim to go.

Virgo on the Fourth
You take great pride in your home and will spend much time cleaning and organizing it so that everything is just so. You prefer plain, functional furnishings — efficiency and utility are the bywords. You are more than a little fussy about the place you call home, and sometimes, when you have guests, you carry this to extremes by going about in their wake straightening up and tidying. You have a no-nonsense approach to the needs of your family — you will provide for their bare minimum necessities and no more. You expect others to become as efficient as you as soon as they possibly can and you will do whatever you can to accelerate the process.

Libra on the Fourth
Your home is a place of refuge for you, a place without stress or tension. You spend a great deal of time, effort and expense in finding the appropriate refined and elegant furnishings so that you and those with whom you live will be able to relax and take it easy. You hate to live alone, delighting in and learning from the give-and-take of relating to others. You are a warm and gracious host or hostess, but you prefer to stay emotionally detached from guests and family. You fear the obligations and responsibilities of deep emotional ties and would rather be a friend and pal. Your innate tact and diplomacy allows you to keep your home running smoothly.

Moon in the Fourth
You have a very strong attachment to your home and family, especially to your mother (or the person who provided that role for you early in your life). This is so ingrained in you that you may find it difficult to cut the apron strings and stand on your own two feet. When you are emotionally secure, you are very giving and loving to others when not, your fear makes you want to withdraw into your own private, non- threatening fantasy world. You are very interested in the history of your family, community and culture.

Moon in Scorpio
Your feelings are intense and never superficial. You tend to be either very angry, very sad, or completely and totally happy. Your moods are deep, extreme and not always completely understood by you or those around you. Emotionally, you tend to live at the cutting edge of life, pushing your reactions to the ultimate extreme, even if the results are dangerous or upsetting. Easily made jealous and very suspicious, you require a great deal of emotional reassurance. A good detective, you are curious about deep and mysterious things, especially human nature and motivations. Be careful not to be ruthless, tactless or overly frank, or you will meet with a great deal of  resistance from others.

Uranus in the Fourth
You have an innate fear and dislike of close, entangling emotional relationships. This problem most likely stems from the environment of your early upbringing in which the emotional support that you needed was inconsistent or unpredictable. As such, you now hate to be tied down to anyone or anything. Your home is, quite literally, wherever you throw your hat. At the very least, your living quarters and home scene are unconventional and unique.

Uranus in Libra
You, as well as your entire peer group, have a very free, unstable and unconventional approach to relationships and emotional commitments. You will be attracted to experiments in marriage and shared lifestyles. Personal freedom is more important to you than entangling emotional bonds. In the realm of art and aesthetics, you are attracted to the bizarre, shocking and unusual.

Pluto in the Fourth
The emotional habit patterns that were formed early in your childhood tend to completely control your behavior when you get upset. When you meet any resistance, and you often do because you tend to push the universe to its limits if you can, you often react by trying to completely crush the source of the problem. This, of course, rarely works to your satisfaction and things tend to degenerate into backbiting and vengeful quarrels. You may have become so closely attached to one of your parents in your youth that you will have to learn to take this relationship much less seriously in order to truly grow up and stand on your own two feet.

Pluto in Libra
Your entire generation was born at a time of radical changes in society’s attitude toward marriage and interpersonal relationships. Because of a general fear and awe at the power inherent in making emotional or contractual commitments, such bonds are not made lightly. The result in the twentieth century was a decline in the prevalence of marriage, an increase informal living arrangements, and an intense focus on revitalizing relationships.

House 5: Playtime
After being nurtured and restored in the fourth house, you are refreshed and full of energy for play and creative pursuits. Replenished by dreams, you have creative ideas. Nurtured by your parents, you are ready to have your own children. Fresh from the security of home, you are ready to trust the universe and take risks. For all these reasons, the fifth house traditionally rules the child in you and the children around you, your own personal creativity and self-expression, plays and amusements of all sorts, gambling and speculation, and courtship, love affairs and romance. This is an outgoing house, but it is still beneath the horizon, in the territory of your heart’s desires.

Scorpio on the Fifth
For you, fun and games are serious business — once you are attracted to a particular form of amusement, you pursue it so obsessively that others wonder where the lighthearted fun disappeared to. You have the same attitude toward love and lovers. Your emotional reactions are so deep, overwhelming and complex that you soon decide that you cannot ever be without your lover and will do anything and everything to bind him or her to you forever. Be careful not to be overly manipulative or pushy or the opposite effect will occur — and your loneliness will be devastating. You tend to prefer relationships that are secretive and sometimes illicit, usually because you distrust dealing openly and directly with your complex emotional reactions.

Neptune in the Fifth
Very imaginative and creative, you like to invent beautiful dreams and fantasies. Lovers and partners are seen as romantic figures, larger than life and without flaws. You also like to put yourself in the role of someone who rescues others from great peril or distress. Try to make sure that those whom you help or love are worthy of the sacrifices you are willing to make for them or you will end up disillusioned and disappointed. If you have children, you will also tend to idealize them and work long and hard to make their path through life smoother. Remember to encourage them to stand on their own two feet and make their own decisions — you must learn to let go.

Neptune in Sagittarius
You, and your entire generation, are heavily involved in investigating and idealizing foreign and exotic intellectual systems and religious philosophies. The most extreme ideals will be pursued with gusto. You will be at the forefront of humanitarian attempts to improve the lot of those who are in need of assistance. You will be comfortable with the concept of the “global village.”

House 6: Taking Care of Business
After the candle-lit dinner comes the credit-card bill. Courtship is followed by the nitty-gritty of married life: babies, diapers and saving up for college. After your creative impulse comes the need to learn the technique of actually making something. And if you overexpend your energy, you get health problems. The sixth house rules taking care of business on an everyday level. This includes your job, paying bills and keeping the house clean. It also includes maintaining your body with medical checkups and a daily regimen of nutrition and exercise. In the old books it ruled servants, and it can by extension rule the way you offer service to others. It also ruled useful animals, particularly small ones like cats, dogs, chickens and pigs. Today this usually means small pets, which exist in the personal, intimate part of your life that is signified by houses that lie below the horizon.

Sagittarius on the Sixth
You must believe in the greater implications of your job in order to do it well. There must be a higher purpose in the tasks you undertake or you will simply lose interest and move on — you do not have the patience to deal with trivial affairs. But once properly motivated, you bring an infectious enthusiasm to the work place that gets others excited as well. You are very restless and may be able to handle more than one task at a time, especially if there is someone else around that can worry about all those bothersome little details that usually foul you up. Your health usually suffers only when you are stuck in a dull, unstimulating environment and feel that you are trapped or overly restricted.

Jupiter in the Sixth
You love to work, especially if your work can expose you to a broad spectrum of experiences. Once motivated, you have the ability to put off the pleasures of the moment in favor of some far-off goal. The tasks that you perform, however, must seem to you to be full of importance and meaning or you will tend to lose your concentration rapidly. Generally, your health should be quite good, as long as you can control your tendency to go off on binges every once in a while. Health problems will usually be controllable by moderating your lifestyle in some appropriate area.

Jupiter in Sagittarius
You have a very strong sense of ethics and morality. You are widely read and may also be widely traveled because you are sincerely interested in expanding your knowledge of the world about you. At times, you have an annoying tendency to be self-righteous and preachy about your belief system. You are usually quite idealistic and you demand the right to be able to explore the entire world of experiences yourself. Remember to grant others the similar right — be tolerant, not dogmatic.

House 7: Relating One-to-One
If you courted in the fifth house and woke up in the sixth yoked to another in a daily routine, the seventh house gives you a chance to hammer out a relationship of true equals. The goal is wedded bliss and a true sense of relatedness, but along the way there may be fights as you each define your individuality and establish your own territory. Not only is the seventh the traditional house of marriage, it is also the house of open enemies, your sparring partners in life. In general, since the first house is you yourself, the seventh house, directly opposite, is the other person in a variety of situations. Besides signifying a marriage or sparring partner, the seventh house rules business partners, or those on the other side of a desk, such as consultants, lawyers, therapists or astrologers.

Capricorn on the Seventh
You seek partners who are well-established, well-grounded and goal-oriented. You yourself are often so heavily involved in your emotional reactions to situations that you appreciate and lean on your partner because of his or her excellent advice and common sense. You need the structure and direction that an organized and practical person can bring to you. You are so aware of the awesome burden of bearing mutual responsibilities in any contractual agreement between people that you delight in finding someone who does not shrink from accepting whatever must be done. This applies equally to personal and business relationships.

North Node in the Seventh
You’re a very social person, so much so that you would rather be out partying and generally interacting with others than staying at home alone. Those you relate to, especially your spouse or business partner, will tend to determine the type of lifestyle that you lead. Be careful not to carry your other-oriented impulses too far though — you don’t want to become overly dependent on someone else. If you do, you’ll feel totally lost should you be parted from them for whatever reason. To feel properly balanced psychologically, you need to realize that you have important personal and private needs that must be met, at least once in a while.

North Node in Capricorn
You rarely get involved closely with anyone unless he or she has something specific and practical to offer you. You tend to be “all business” when it comes to dealing with others. You’re usually so intently focused on a particular goal that you rarely have time for social niceties or casual fellowship. But you can definitely be counted on by others to get things done. When you say that you’ll do something, you do it. As such, you’re a valuable member of any team situation and will probably rise to a position of leadership within the group. Your trustworthiness and sense of responsibility are unquestioned. But do try to avoid the temptation to “use” others to reach your goals, because they might come to resent you.

House 8: Giving It All Away
Having achieved a relationship of equals in the seventh house, you are ready to give up your separateness in the eighth, merging in sexual union and becoming one on a deep emotional level. If the second house was about grasping and possessing, the eighth is about sharing and letting go. While the second rules your own money, the eighth rules how you deal with other people’s money and how you pool resources. On a mundane level the eighth rules taxes, but on a fundamental level it can rule giving up anything you value, including your ego and even your body. In relaxing your grasp on what you find most dear, you may find that you are really not as dependent on it as you thought. In relinquishing, you achieve a new level of freedom, and feel lighter, renewed and more alive. Related to all this, the eighth signifies mysteries such as death and resurrection, magic and the occult, and the deep parts of the psyche that are beyond our conscious grasp.

Aquarius on the Eighth
You have a detached and intellectual approach to sexual matters. You carefully and completely analyze the pros and cons of any potential liaison before committing yourself to it. The main disadvantage here is that spontaneity has been thrown out the window, but the relationship may stand the test of time because you are probably quite sure that you are interested in maintaining it almost before it has begun. Once you have made a commitment to another, you can come up with unique, original and inventive ways to explore your sexuality. Your ability to remain cool, detached and unemotional also allows you to be a prudent and careful investor, but you are not averse to taking a calculated risk every once in a while.

No planets in the Eighth
The eighth house of your horoscope contains no planets. This definitely does not mean that you will not enjoy a rewarding sex life or that you will never have any resources to invest or to share in common with another. What it does mean is that these issues will not be as paramount in your life as they are for others. You will experience a certain amount of disequilibrium and/or joy about these matters, but no more than the average person experiences.

House 9: Expanding Your Awareness
Approaching the highest point in the sky, the ninth house wafts you up and out of your rut, giving you a broad and lofty view of the terrain beneath. Whereas the third ruled basic schooling and short trips, the ninth rules higher education and long-distance travel. It removes you from your everyday routine so you can see the overall pattern, the overlooked connections between things. It rules all-embracing concepts (such as your philosophy of life) and institutions (like religion and law) that stand over society and keep it bound together. It can also signify your teachers and mentors, your library, and all else that broadens your outlook.

Aquarius on the Ninth
You have a detached and objective attitude toward philosophy and metaphysics. You are quite interested in the larger questions of the day but you tend to be suspicious of those who are zealous converts to any particular system. You fear those who are overly emotional in their approach to things, preferring to trust only those systems with a solid foundation of logic and reason behind them. Yet you have the ability to appreciate new, complicated and original ways to solve important problems in ethics and morality. Beware that your tendency to be cool and rational does not make you too intolerant of the needs and feelings of others.

No planets in the Ninth
Your ninth house is not activated by planetary activity. The extent and depth of your life philosophy and the intensity of your higher educational experiences are not major issues for you. Look to the house and aspects of Jupiter in your horoscope to get further information on how you deal with these issues.

House 10: Your Public Self
If the fourth house showed your roots and where you came from, the tenth shows what you are ultimately aiming at in life. Whereas the sixth shows your daily job and how you make a living, the tenth signifies your career, your personal contribution, your reputation and what you become known for. Some astrologers also believe that the fourth house signifies one parent, and the tenth signifies the other. The tenth-house parent is most likely the one who prepares you for the world. The closer a planet is to the Midheaven, the more likely that planet is to be the major significator of your life’s direction.

Pisces on the Tenth
You do not have a very strong ego drive and consequently have no great desire to make a big splash in the world. You would much rather contemplate the more profound philosophical implications of the human condition. Very religious and highly principled, you love to help the downtrodden. Please be wary that those whom you choose to help really deserve your aid and that they are not merely playing you for a sucker. You are aware of “vibes”, but usually you merely absorb them rather than turn them to your own advantage.

Aries on the Tenth
You tend to think so well of yourself and your potentials that you believe that there is nothing that you cannot do with your life. Very ambitious, very optimistic and very confident in yourself, you are willing to take career risks that others would not even begin to consider. It would be best for you to seek a career in some highly competitive field where you can rise to the top and become a leader of others. You are much more comfortable in giving orders than in taking them. Your impetuosity and devil-may-care attitude sometimes gets you into hot water. It will be difficult, but you should try to learn to look before you leap.

Chiron in the Tenth
The lure of professional success is appealing but somewhat daunting and difficult to attain. You may fear the responsibility that accompanies achieving your goals. You may be tempted to remain in a low-key position, seek self-employment, or work at home. Homemaking and raising children may be your most fulfilling roles. Don’t let the fear of failure deter you from pursuing professional endeavors. Your resilience, intelligence and good judgment will point the way to success.

Chiron in Aries
Obsessively independent and intent on enjoying life to the fullest, you may inadvertently neglect those you love. Pay attention to those who mean the most to you, or you may wind up being alone. You clearly want to be a trailblazer in your field. At times, opposition to your ideas leaves you feeling that it is you against the world. An iron will and a pioneering spirit will help you overcome all obstacles and reach your goals.

House 11: Your Circle of Acquaintances
The eleventh is the last house of relationships: not brothers, sisters and neighbors who just happen to be around you, not one-to-one partners, but the circle of friends and associates whom you actively choose. It shows the way you make and keep friendships, the organizations you join, the networking you do, and the general way you interact with groups. After you have established yourself as an individual and learned to form personal relationships with others, you are ready to think about the common good. This is why the eleventh often signifies groups dedicated to social or other sorts of collective improvement.

Taurus on the Eleventh
Once you form a friendship or association in common with others, your loyalty and devotion can be counted on forever. Your alliances and group networks are usually a reflection of those you encountered as a very young person and may be closely related to important familial or cultural or neighborhood contacts. You value the interaction and mutual benefits that such associations bring and will work long and hard to support and defend your friends because you consider them to be an integral part of your extended family. It is almost impossible for anyone to get you to change your mind when it comes to your friends, unless they can be shown to be traitorous or scandalous, and even then you will try to rehabilitate them rather than abandon them.

No planets in the Eleventh
The eleventh house of your horoscope contains no planets. This does not mean that you will never have friends or associates or that you will never be active in groups that express your philosophy of life. It simply indicates that these are not paramount issues for you. From time to time, influences from outside you may cause you to become more active in these areas, but this will be temporary rather than life-long.

House 12: The Hidden You
The twelfth house is where planets go just after they have risen. Here planets are still wet behind the ears, blinking in the sunlight and unsteady on their feet. Feeling completely vulnerable, planets in the twelfth tend to hide. Their energies can become repressed and secretive, and sometimes they lurk as complexes in the subconscious. This is why the twelfth is associated with self-sabotage, with hidden enemies, and with prison and whatever else makes you feel confined. The traditional association with hospitals and prisons suggest that constructive ways of dealing with twelfth-house problems include helping others who are similarly repressed or confined. Also, some with a strong twelfth-house emphasis become successful as undercover workers or as the power behind the throne.

Gemini on the Twelfth
Part of you distrusts your innate ability to be logical and reasonable about things. You have been conditioned early on in life to trust only strong emotional stimuli in dealing with life, even though you crave and need intellectual stimulation as well. You should demand the right to have a hobby that allows you to indulge your normally suppressed inclination to think things through clearly and objectively. As you develop more self-confidence, you will be able to trust the thoughts and opinions that you have that result from something other than intuition or sentiment.

Venus in the Twelfth
Although a very loving person, you tend to be shy and reserved about expressing your true feelings. You are afraid of being rejected by others should you become too exuberant — you find aggressiveness personally offensive. You must learn to trust others and yourself, too. When you are able to relax and not feel threatened, you are very giving to others, especially those who are in distress.

Venus in Cancer
You like to be very close to other people. You need emotional support yourself and are willing to give it to others. When you feel unloved and insecure, you can be very jealous and possessive. You are not interested in casual or superficial relationships — only deep emotional involvements interest you. Your faithful devotion is one of your greatest gifts, but be careful not to become too dependent on others. Learn to stand on your own two feet and demand your own rights once in a while.

Saturn in the Twelfth
You have a feeling that your personal world is not and never will be stable. Also, you feel that you can never impose the sense of order and discipline on your surroundings that you think you need in order to be at peace with yourself. This can lead to deep-seated feelings of inferiority and accompanying bouts of depression. These unreasonable fears probably stem from some unfortunate occurrence early on in your life. It is important for you to realize that the reason for these fears is long since past and that they are no longer relevant to your present life. Be patient and things will more than likely look better for you the older (and wiser) you get.

Saturn in Gemini
You are such a clear thinker and speaker, with a logical orderly mind, that you are repulsed by abstract, intangible or unorganized thoughts or ideas. But you tend to get uptight about speaking in public because you are afraid to be wrong. Remember that the best way to learn is by making mistakes. Also, you will be so carefully prepared that you probably will not make many mistakes anyway. To be interesting to you, ideas have to be practical and useful.

A Mirror of Your Uniqueness
This report is based on the position of the Sun, Moon and planets at the moment of your birth, as seen from the point on Earth where you were born. Such an arrangement of planets and stars will never be repeated in exactly the same form. Like the genes that determine your body and temperament, your astrological chart is made up of the same basic parts that other humans have, but the arrangement of these parts is uniquely your own.

You could think of your birth moment as a seed that contains the potential for how you will unfold. The arrangement of the planets at your birth does not, however, cause your body structure and temperament in the way that the patterning of your DNA causes it. Instead, the planetary positions at your birth employ the language of symbols to mirror who you are. Like a mirror, your chart enables you to see yourself from outside yourself, and it therefore extends your point of view.

To use a different analogy, your chart shows the deck you’ve been dealt, the raw materials you are given from which to fashion a life. Nobody’s perfect: we are all given our special problems to solve and our special strengths and beauties. In knowing what you have to work with, you will be better able to make use of your gifts, fill in (or at least be comfortable about) what you lack, and grow in the life directions that are right for you and you alone.

Instead of assuming that there is one norm for everyone, astrology attempts to show the special pattern that is right for you. In doing so, it can give you clues as to how you can more fully and consciously fill the unique role that you have been given in this lifetime, and enrich the world with the gifts that only you can bestow.

This is the Professional Natal Report, from Astrolabe.
