Introduction
The report that you are about to read is a first step in decoding the symbolic language of your birth chart. It explains the raw materials that you have been given for building a life. It outlines how the overall shape of your chart reflects the overall shape of your personality, what your greatest challenges are likely to be, the strengths you have been given to meet these challenges, and the main arenas you are given for playing out your life’s drama.

In this report you may notice certain places where the information seems to be contradictory. This is to be expected, because people are complex. For example, in some situations we are shy and in others, aggressive. When you see repeated patterns, though, take special note: these are apt to be the dominant themes in your life.

The Main Emphasis in Your Chart
The general distribution of planets around you at your birth is one of the things that shows the overall shape of your personality. Before taking a closer look at the details, let’s stand back for a moment to see whether your chart contains any obvious emphasis in a sign, group of signs, or other division of the horoscope wheel.

Most planets are in the eastern half of the chart.
You prefer to be in charge of your own destiny, rather than following someone else's dreams, adventures, projects or proposals. This tends to make you an outgoing, active person, in charge of your affairs. Independent and outwardly directed, you are conscious of the direction in which you lead your life. An entrepreneurial pursuit of some type will find you at your best. You need followers to help you, so be sure that you attract those who are willing to follow your vision. Be clear, however, as to who is in charge. Joining forces with someone as strong-minded as you may cause the kind of stress that will distract you from your goals. Make all possible allowances for practicality; and then go ahead and pursue your vision.

Most planets are above the horizon.
You tend to identify who you are with what you have accomplished in the world. This may make you highly competitive in establishing yourself within a definable lifestyle or career. Your trophy case or the diplomas on your wall may be a source of great personal satisfaction. It is important to balance your need for outer-world-accomplishments with care for your inner self. Also, take great care not to lose sight of the needs of your loved ones.

There are many planets in Earth signs
Having so very many planets in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn, you tend to be the soul of practicality and pragmatism. You prefer to deal with tangible things that you can touch, see or hear, and like to live in a world where things are measurable and there are no abstractions. You also like to work with the present moment, the here and now, especially if it creates a lasting outcome or is connected to a past. You may have to guard against a tendency to be overly conservative, cautious or narrow-minded.

Stability is your great strength. You can be counted on when things get crazy around you, because you generally don’t engage in knee-jerk reactions. Instead, you prefer to allow things to happen, and then you react in your own time. You initiate matters only when they aren’t proceeding in the direction that you expect. Because you tend to be passive, you need external stimuli to get you going.

Very fertile, you enjoy producing things of substance, from children to business reports. You are not, however, overly nurturing. You generally prepare the ground, plant the seeds and then walk away until harvest time. If the seed needs continual care and attention to grow to its fullest potential, you may or may not intervene. If you do offer assistance, it tends to be for the material, rather than the emotional, needs of whatever you are nurturing.

There are many planets in Fixed signs.
Your strong emphasis in signs like Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius gives you the persistence to bring any project to its conclusion. You are the one who can be counted on to do whatever must be done. A preserver of old traditions and customs, you know that forward progress can occur only if there is a firm foundation to begin with. You are glad to build that foundation. Be aware, however, that others may sometimes view your noble persistence as stubbornness, cussedness or pigheadedness.

Aspects: Keys to Your Inner Drama
In your birth chart, the Sun, Moon and planets play the central role. They are the actors in the drama, the moving figures on the stage, each with a character of its own. How these characters relate to each other, whether and how they clash or harmonize, whether they bring out each other’s best or worst qualities, is shown by the aspects, or angles, between the planets.

Is the ongoing drama between two planets a continuing tension that periodically erupts into crises (conjunctions, oppositions and squares), a harmonious alliance where the two planets aid and abet each other (trines and sextiles), an uneasy truce full of ambiguities (certain other aspects in neither of these families), or simply indifference (no aspect at all)? Below you will see which pairs of planets are in aspect in your chart.

Each of the following sections lists the aspects in order of their general importance, with aspects involving the Sun, Moon and fast-moving planets coming first. You can get a further idea of their importance in your particular chart by going to the aspect table at the beginning of this report and finding the five or so aspects with the smallest number of degrees and minutes in the “The orb is” column.

Your Major Challenges
We start with your conjunctions, oppositions and squares because these tend to point out the challenges that you have been set in life. Mose people experience these aspects as problems, at least at first. Armed with awareness, however, you can come to view these so-called “ hard” aspects as the blessings that they really are. These are the forces that spur you forward. When you face the challenges that these aspects pose, you grow in strength, confidence, wisdom and maturity.

Sun opposite Mars
The extreme tension that you feel within you often propels you into situations that are full of antagonism. Needing to vent the steam built up inside you, you are often either bruising for a fight or argument yourself, or somehow find yourself bumping up against others who are. It may be difficult to control your hot temper and impulsiveness, but do try. Sports and other kinds of ritualized contests are an ideal way to use a prodigious amount of energy. Also, you will be in your proper element if you seek out companions and partners who don’t mind stress and who can dish it out as well as take it.

Sun conjunct Jupiter
The grand gesture is your trademark, because you hate to do things in a small way. Stretch limos, five-star restaurants and the latest fashions are where you feel comfortable. Even when reality does not cooperate with your grandiose schemes, your optimistic attitude toward life usually bails you out. Still, putting limits on your extravagance and cultivating a bit of self-control would probably make things go smoother for you.

Sun opposite Uranus
You are constantly aware of an inner tension that makes you want to upset your settled existence and throw off the traces by heading off in some sort of wildly tangential direction in your career or relationships. For you to feel at ease, you need to find constructive ways to satisfy this rebellious attitude. In order to avoid acting in a sullen, unpredictable and contrary manner with the feeling that life has passed you by, consider consciously seeking out a lifestyle with a large amount of variety and a good deal of risk. In doing so, you will be happy, and others will find you refreshing.

Sun conjunct Neptune
You are extremely impressionable. This allows you to sense feelings that others miss, and to grasp concepts that others who are too literal-minded cannot understand. It also, however, leaves you prey to picking up on negative energy in the environment, which can cause you to become highly uncomfortable and even physically ill. It is therefore very important for you to establish a positive living situation. For you more than most, positive energy tends to fortify your spirits and brighten your outlook on life. Although when stressed you can be evasive and mistrustful, at your best, you can be extremely caring and compassionate.

Moon conjunct Midheaven
You apply a great deal of emotional energy pushing yourself and your career forward. The content of what you learned early in life from your mother and family strongly affects the manner in which you deal with others and the public at large. You are generally sympathetic of the needs of people and can use this as a sort of sixth sense in guiding your career. Others sense that you can be trusted because of your sincerity — thus they can usually provide you with encouragement and much needed emotional support.

Venus square Saturn
As much as you yearn for love and affection, you tend to regard the responsibilities of caring for someone else (and being cared for by him or her) as so overwhelming that you often choose not to get involved at all. This can make you seem very shy, cold and aloof. You respect maturity and wisdom rather than emotional displays of affection, and might be more comfortable relating to someone much older or younger than yourself. Try not to let your lack of self-confidence drive you completely into a shell.

Venus conjunct Pluto
Your emotional relationships must be alive, sensual, intense and evolving. For you, loving is a creative and transformative act that produces thorough and dramatic changes in both your lives. You thrive on the excitement and crises that occur when a relationship pushes you and your beloved to extremes. You have the gift of making a deep and total commitment to another, when you both can stand the tension and intensity.

Mars conjunct Uranus
You are known for being unconventional, restless and independent. Your demand for freedom to be yourself at all costs can lead to a pattern of constant difficulties with authority figures such as fathers, bosses and policemen. Your daring and cavalier lifestyle ensures that the unexpected and the exciting will be commonplace in your life. Your prodigious energy is coupled with a tendency to push things to the limit. To cut down on your accidents, make sure that you always avail yourself of whatever safety precautions are available.

Mars opposite Neptune
You have a delicate and fragile faith that your inner visions of truth, beauty and nobility of purpose are shared and practiced by everyone else. But others rarely can meet these high standards. When they show their fallibility, you become easily discouraged and develop a defeatist attitude. This makes you want to retreat and escape even further. Try to lower your expectations and be a bit more reasonable. Above all, avoid experimenting with drugs or alcohol. You have a slender enough grasp on reality without them.

Jupiter conjunct North Node
You have the knack of turning meetings with people whom you hardly know into very favorable relationships — relationships that assist you in growing as a person. Your candid, open and sincere attitude towards others inspires trust and confidence. You can count on others helping you over the rough spots in life — and you’ll remember that help and be on the lookout to come to the aid of others who need the same sort of assistance. As such, you may become heavily and quite effectively involved with community, religious or charitable organizations. But do try to stay humble — don’t let your inevitable successes go to your head.

Saturn square Pluto
Just when you think that you have regained control of your life and things are moving in the direction you want them to, forces that seem to be out of your control assert themselves and try to force you to make dramatic alterations in your life direction. Because you see these forces as a threat, you resist them with all your might. Learn to compromise a bit more. The changes that come to you are the result of deep inner needs and will ultimately prove beneficial, even though you may at first find them painful or inconvenient.

Uranus opposite Neptune
Your generation is both idealistic and rebellious. Make sure that the causes for which you are fighting have some chance of success. Otherwise, you will be at loggerheads with the representatives of the established order, to no particular purpose. If you learn to compromise a bit, you may be able to effect some real progress. Be careful not to dwell totally in your fantasies or visions, especially if they make you fearful and confused. It is important to be able to distinguish what is real from what is illusory.

Chiron conjunct Descendant
Preoccupied with the way you look and behave, you are much too concerned with the opinions of others. You often paint yourself as a victim of circumstance and feel that the world owes you a living. At times, you are tempted to surrender your hopes and dreams for a partner. Once you improve your self-esteem and carve out your own niche, you will be less dependent on others and will not look to a partner to define your path.

Your Sustaining Strengths
Trines and sextiles tend to work with a natural harmony that calls for little effort on your part. They show the things that you just seem naturally good at. Usually they point to the more positive parts of your nature, and act as support that you can call on in difficult times.

Because these aspects are so comfortable, they are not likely to push you to expand your limits or cause you to change. It is actually helpful to have a balance of hard aspects (like oppositions and squares) to stimulate you to grow, and soft aspects (trines and sextiles) to ease your passage and provide places to rest.

If you are blessed with a predominance of trines and sextiles, your life may tend to be placid and your nature serene. If so, remember that the world around you is probably sorely in need of these qualities that are yours to bestow.

Moon sextile Saturn
Others turn to you in times of crisis because you have the ability to remain cool under fire. You will work long and hard to make order out of chaos, and have a practical, serious, unemotional approach to living that inspires confidence in others. This can give you great managerial and administrative talent. Emotionally reserved, you take a while before committing yourself to others. Once you take the plunge, though, you are a loyal and devoted friend.

Venus sextile Ascendant
You are charming and graceful and others are attracted to you. Your popularity is assured because you really DO care for others. You want to make them comfortable and relaxed and you go out of your way to see that this happens. Your presence at any social occasion produces a very soothing, quieting effect. You have the ability to disperse tension and make all about you harmonious — the gift of the peacemaker.

Jupiter sextile Midheaven
You are very ambitious, much more so than most people. You have big plans about what you want to do and where you want to go. You are attracted to a lifestyle of comfort, culture and luxury. But you also have very high standards of ethics and morality. If you cannot accomplish your goals without honor, integrity and fair-mindedness, you will seek another path rather than compromise yourself.

Saturn trine North Node
You seem to function best in social situations in which you can chum around with just a small group of friends and acquaintances. You appreciate more sedate and mature individuals and, once your friendship has been given, you’ll be loyal for life. Although you’re not interested in broadening your social sphere, you have the ability to make a major contribution to your neighborhood or community if it’s in your best interest to do so. You won’t put out any extra energy for extremely idealistic causes, but practical solutions to tangible problems will goad you to immediate and effective community action.

Saturn sextile Midheaven
When you have decided on a life goal, you have the ability to work long and hard to accomplish it. You are unafraid of taking care of the minor but important details necessary to bring something to a successful conclusion. Your ability to proceed in a disciplined, orderly manner earns you the rightful reputation of a perfectionist, a reputation that you are justly proud of. You are ideally suited to being either an administrator or a teacher.

Pluto sextile Ascendant
You have a magnetically attractive personality. Others view you as someone with the ability and power and personal resources to accomplish just about anything that you please. And indeed you do have the required will and drive to be successful. Because like sometimes attracts like, you also find that you are attracted to those who are powerful and influential.

North Node sextile Midheaven
You’re far more comfortable working within a group than you are “going it alone.” Good fellowship and companionship seem to bring out the best in you — you thrive on being in the center of a large crew of like-minded people. Your unselfish, understanding demeanor makes you acceptable just about anywhere. You’re sincerely concerned with others and their needs and will give out that extra effort needed to accomplish group goals, even if you don’t advance very far on your own score. You can be counted on by your compatriots to be “there” when the going gets tough.

Rounding Out the Picture
Two other families of so-called “minor” aspects add yet more information about the way the planets relate to each other in your chart. Semisquares and sesquares (also known as sesquiquadrates) share the dynamic, crisis-prone nature of the square but need to be quite exact in order to be felt.

Semisextiles and quincunxes connect signs that are totally unrelated to each other. They can have an odd, unsettling quality, indicating problems or issues that it’s hard to get a grip on. They are like interesting puzzles that call for a creative solution.

Sun semisquare Moon
In certain situations you experience problems in making decisions that are balanced, appropriate and reasonable. Because you feel, at some times, that you are lacking either the ability to be rational and logical or, at other times, the ability to be compassionate and feeling, you tend to overcompensate and the result always seems to put you off center, forcing you to continually make adjustments. Be aware of this tendency and consciously try to seek a middle path in all you do.

Moon sesquare Mars
You are both aggressive and emotional, which can make it very difficult for others to deal with you at times. While it is admirable that you are usually so open and honest and direct about your feelings, others may wish for a break now and then from your moodiness, argumentativeness and irritability. But those who really care for you will stick with you and realize that your storminess is soon past.

Venus semisextile North Node
You’re usually the “life of the party” — others truly enjoy your company because you seem to radiate a warm and loving personality. But you often get tired of being so out front for others — you’re aware of the enormous energy it takes to be constantly giving of yourself. At times you take it out on those you like by becoming snappish and irritable, but you can avoid this by simply withdrawing every once in a while to recharge your batteries. A little “enlightened selfishness” on your part can keep things running smoothly around you.

Venus semisextile Midheaven
On the one hand, you have very specific life goals for which you are willing to work very hard. But, on the other hand, you are very aware that you need the love and approbation of those with whom you come into contact and will go out of your way to accommodate their needs. Very often these two contrary tendencies collide, causing you to be indecisive about moving ahead and worried about offending those you care about. You see this happening and do not know how to deal with it. Because these two patterns are so difficult to resolve, you must learn to separate them if possible. Be as nice as you can, within reason, but do not neglect your own advancement.

Pluto semisextile North Node
The very palpable tension that seems to occur as you attempt to interact with others — even with quite casual acquaintances — is a continuing concern for you. You feel frustrated and guilty when you see yourself subtly goading people into opposing you, even over quite trivial matters. You should try to remember that not everyone enjoys living life at the same high level of intensity as you do — your attempts to push them closer to the edge (for their own good, of course) might just not be appreciated. Learn to live and let live. And make sure that others are willing participants when you turn up the intensity level. If you can do this, there won’t be any hurt feelings.

Pluto semisextile Midheaven
The way that you want to proceed in attaining your life goals is often at odds with normally accepted patterns of behavior. At times, you are so concerned with getting to your objectives that you will trample on the rights of others, perhaps doing underhanded or sneaky things behind their backs in order to gain the upper hand. You must learn the lessons of tact and humility if you would truly succeed. It would be a hollow victory indeed if you attained your goals but had the respect of no one, including yourself. The temptation to manipulate others for your own good will be strong, but resist it you must.

North Node semisextile Ascendant
At times you notice a significant strain in your relationships with those in your home environment or with your colleagues on the job. When you feel that your privacy has been threatened, you often lash out at those you care for most — and then you prove to be quite difficult to be around. You notice this and it bothers you deeply, because you don’t know how to deal with it and you suspect that you are the cause of the tension around you. One sure thing that you can do is to make sure that you have a completely private place of your own to which you can retreat when things get edgy — and use it! That should allow you enough time to gather yourself together and recharge your batteries — and become more sociable.

Houses: Bringing the Planets Down to Earth
The positions of the planets in the zodiac, and the aspects between the planets, are nearly the same for everyone born on a given day. But the houses reflect how the planets were arranged around you and you alone, at a given hour and minute, and at a given place on Earth. Houses therefore personalize the planets, showing how they relate to your own particular life.

The meanings of the twelve houses echo those of the twelve zodiacal signs, but are more specific and concrete. For example, the second sign, Taurus, is much concerned with the material world, whereas the second house deals with your actual possessions: how you feel about them, and how you acquire them.

The house delineations that follow show how the affairs of each house are flavored by the sign that lies on its cusp. Since houses are sometimes larger than signs, a house may also have one or more signs completely enclosed or “intercepted” within it, in which case you will find additional material about the intercepted signs in a house. Most important, you will learn below in what areas of life the planets — the main actors in your drama — are disposed to be most active, and how the way each planet operates is influenced by both its house and its sign.

House 1: Your Interface with the World
The first house focuses on the basic equipment that you have been given for interacting with the world: your body and your physical constitution, your face, your appearance, your personality, mannerisms and the way you present yourself. It may not be how you see yourself, but it is how others tend to perceive you, and you should be aware that it has an important effect on how you are accepted in social situations. Planets in the first house tend to be strong and “out-front,” especially when they are close to (that is, conjunct) your Ascendant.

Leo on the First
You love to be the center of attention and you like to appear strong, confident and dominant. You are very proud of yourself, and can even be quite vain. When those around you are bedraggled and falling apart, you look like a million bucks! Dignified and honorable, you enjoy the power and privilege, but not the responsibilities, that come with leadership. You are idealistic but can also be quite stubborn. Others impress you only if they have integrity (but wealth, power and influence can also turn your head). You prefer rich, elegant surroundings and possessions, and will try to acquire them as your budget allows. Physically, you are impressive, and when at your best have a regal, charismatic demeanor. Try, however, not to be too much of a showoff.

No planets in the First
You have no planets in the first house, which means that the way that others regard you is not usually a major issue for you. Look to the house position of the Sun, Mars and Saturn to learn how your sense of personal identity is integrated into your overall character.

House 2: What You Own and Value
The second house goes a step outward from your own person and has to do with resources that you possess, including money. It shows your attitude toward what you own or would like to own: what you crave and covet, what you most value, how you go about getting it, how you take care of it, and whether or not you hang on to it. By extension, it can also indicate your sense of values: not just material things but also the attitudes and ideas that you hold dear.

Virgo on the Second
You are known for being practical and cautious, especially when it comes to financial matters. You purchase things only if they are functional and useful and only if you really need them. You would never think of buying something “for the fun of it” or if it were merely pretty or decorative. Your furnishings and clothes reflect this sense of values as well — you prefer to be in plain vanilla surroundings that are neat, tidy and functional. You have the ability to save money and resources toward some desired goal that is far- off in the future. At your worst, you tend to be miserly and penurious, but you can usually make do with less uncomplainingly when times really do get tough.

No planets in the Second
The second house of your horoscope contains no planets. This means that you tend not to be overly concerned about what you own, and that your attitudes and value structures are most likely integrated into your character as a whole. If outside influences upset this balance and cause these issues to become more important than usual, it will probably be only temporary.

House 3: Your Immediate Surroundings
Going a step further out from your own body and possessions, the third house has to do with your immediate surroundings and how you interact with them. The first “social” house, it describes brothers and sisters, neighbors and anyone who just happens to be near you on a daily basis. It also describes daily communication and transportation: letters, phone calls and emails, and routine journeys such as commuting to shopping, school or work. The first “mental” house, it governs early education and basic skills training, paving the way for higher education in the ninth house which is directly opposite it in the chart.

Libra on the Third
You have such an evenhanded, balanced and objective mind that you have the ability to deal with the public in stressful situations. You can soothe tattered nerves and bring a sense of peace, order and harmony to almost any social situation. You enjoy a good debate, as long as personalities do not become an issue, because you delight in seeing how ideas grow and evolve as they are shared between people. You love word play and are at your best when you can use your polished and urbane vocabulary in lighthearted banter. You prefer that your daily living routine be harmonious and elegant and will go out of your way to see that stress and tension are not a part of your life.

No planets in the Third
Your third house is not activated by planetary activity. For the most part, how you order your daily life activities is not an issue for you. It is something that you rarely think about or have to plan consciously.

House 4: Where You Come From
Being at the very bottom of the wheel, the fourth house is both where you originate and where you come to rest. As such, it describes your parents and ancestral background, and later the home or protected space into which you retreat each day for nourishment and sleep. A deeply personal house, the fourth is concerned with security and peace of mind, the safety of loved ones, and how you care for others and yourself. The place of your roots and the earth beneath your feet, the fourth house rules the house or apartment where you live and also real estate in general. In your trajectory through life, the fourth house shows your origins and where you are coming from, just as the tenth house and Midheaven describe your career and where you aim to go.

Scorpio on the Fourth
You are fascinated by your family and cultural background and will devote a great deal of time to studying your personal genealogical history. You are totally devoted to your home and enjoy decorating it and redecorating it and redecorating it and ... Beware of the tendency to become so overly attached to certain members of your family that it becomes difficult for them to break the familial bonds — remember that they too must go off and have an independent existence. It is not fair to tie others to you by guilt or subtle psychological subversion just because you are afraid to be alone.

No planets in the Fourth
You have no planets in the fourth house. This means that home and family are not likely to be major issues for you, or demand much time and energy on your part. For further information on how you handle the issues of security and peace of mind, look to the house and aspects of your Moon.

House 5: Playtime
After being nurtured and restored in the fourth house, you are refreshed and full of energy for play and creative pursuits. Replenished by dreams, you have creative ideas. Nurtured by your parents, you are ready to have your own children. Fresh from the security of home, you are ready to trust the universe and take risks. For all these reasons, the fifth house traditionally rules the child in you and the children around you, your own personal creativity and self-expression, plays and amusements of all sorts, gambling and speculation, and courtship, love affairs and romance. This is an outgoing house, but it is still beneath the horizon, in the territory of your heart’s desires.

Sagittarius on the Fifth
You have a free, easy and open approach to fun and games. You need lots of exercise because you are quite restless and would be naturally attracted to sports, especially those that require the expenditure of much strength and energy. Your attitude toward love and lovers demands that you constantly be challenged by them — you crave new experiences and new mental stimuli and, if things bog down or get dull, you will move along to someone else. You love children and especially delight in watching them grow and change. You are at your best when you can share your wisdom and knowledge with them — you make an enthusiastic and idealistic teacher.

Mars in the Fifth
Honest and openly self-expressive to the extreme, at times you get into hot water because you are not always as tactful and mindful of the feelings of others as you might be. If your work can be thought of as play, you love it. You need to be able to exert yourself physically, so recreational contact sports would be an ideal way for you to burn off energy. In relationships, you love to take the initiator, “yang”, macho, role. But do try to keep your feistiness in line — it is not fair to have playful competition degenerate into intimidation.

Mars in Capricorn
Extremely ambitious, you are willing to work hard to reach the goals you have set for yourself. Very practical, cautious and conservative, you demand tangible results for your efforts. You need to excel in whatever you do, and you have the required sense of responsibility, dedication and self-discipline to bring it about. Beware of your tendency to judge others by their status and prestige, or by how well they are able to advance you in your climb to the top.

Uranus in the Fifth
You demand complete and total freedom of self-expression. Your tastes are unique and unconventional, and your leisure activities and friends must be exciting and different in order to hold your interest. It is very hard for you to follow strict rules or guidelines or to do any sort of work that is not fun or exciting. When you fall in love, you demand and expect the unexpected — unstable, unstructured love relationships are the only ones that really seem to interest you.

Uranus in Capricorn
You, and your peer group as well, seek out practical solutions to a changing society’s attitudes to customs, traditions and authority structures. Your logical and orderly manner of dealing with these matters will result in permanent and carefully planned, but sweeping, reforms.

House 6: Taking Care of Business
After the candle-lit dinner comes the credit-card bill. Courtship is followed by the nitty-gritty of married life: babies, diapers and saving up for college. After your creative impulse comes the need to learn the technique of actually making something. And if you overexpend your energy, you get health problems. The sixth house rules taking care of business on an everyday level. This includes your job, paying bills and keeping the house clean. It also includes maintaining your body with medical checkups and a daily regimen of nutrition and exercise. In the old books it ruled servants, and it can by extension rule the way you offer service to others. It also ruled useful animals, particularly small ones like cats, dogs, chickens and pigs. Today this usually means small pets, which exist in the personal, intimate part of your life that is signified by houses that lie below the horizon.

Capricorn on the Sixth
You are all business when it comes to work — you are practical, efficient and goal-oriented. The desire to be the best at what you do motivates you to put out superior effort and craftsmanship. You know how to take on responsibilities and can be effective in leadership positions. As long as the long-range goals are well defined, you will plow ahead diligently until you get there — you are not easily distracted. But try to take time out once in a while to schedule in fun and relaxation. Your health suffers most when you are involved in overly stressful situations or when you feel that your life is out of your own control.

Chiron in the Sixth
You are a dedicated worker who often places responsibility and duty ahead of having fun. It is not uncommon for you to work into the wee hours of the night. Don’t feel guilty about relaxing and enjoying yourself. Letting your hair down from time to time does wonders for your mental and physical health. Being saddled with physical limitations has given you insight into health problems and a fierce determination to overcome shortcomings. You make an excellent healer, social worker or teacher.

Chiron in Aquarius
Organizing your time may be daunting, but it is the only answer to your overloaded and chaotic schedule. Socially conscious and politically active, you may have had professional setbacks due to lack of discipline and an inability to adhere to details. Learning to focus will enable you to be more effective in the workplace. Revolutionary and innovative, you must become more diplomatic before you can change the world. You have difficulty trusting even those closest to you. Learn to have faith in others, and an inability to cooperate will be a thing of the past.

House 7: Relating One-to-One
If you courted in the fifth house and woke up in the sixth yoked to another in a daily routine, the seventh house gives you a chance to hammer out a relationship of true equals. The goal is wedded bliss and a true sense of relatedness, but along the way there may be fights as you each define your individuality and establish your own territory. Not only is the seventh the traditional house of marriage, it is also the house of open enemies, your sparring partners in life. In general, since the first house is you yourself, the seventh house, directly opposite, is the other person in a variety of situations. Besides signifying a marriage or sparring partner, the seventh house rules business partners, or those on the other side of a desk, such as consultants, lawyers, therapists or astrologers.

Aquarius on the Seventh
You seek an intellectual rapprochement in relationships. You appreciate it when your potential partner can maintain his or her detachment and objectivity and still be attracted to you because of your integrity and high-mindedness. But there will be a fine line drawn here and battles of will may surface if either of you tries to dominate or rule the other in any way. You will both be best served if you have separate existences within the relationship and just get together to swap notes once in a while. You are good friends with your partners (both business and personal) and do not like to threaten the relationship with messy emotional considerations.

No planets in the Seventh
You have no planets in the seventh house of your horoscope. This does not mean that you will never have any relationships or that you will never get married. What it does indicate is that you will not find your life overly dominated by working out problems associated with relationships. You will experience more or less activity in these areas occasionally, along with everyone else.

House 8: Giving It All Away
Having achieved a relationship of equals in the seventh house, you are ready to give up your separateness in the eighth, merging in sexual union and becoming one on a deep emotional level. If the second house was about grasping and possessing, the eighth is about sharing and letting go. While the second rules your own money, the eighth rules how you deal with other people’s money and how you pool resources. On a mundane level the eighth rules taxes, but on a fundamental level it can rule giving up anything you value, including your ego and even your body. In relaxing your grasp on what you find most dear, you may find that you are really not as dependent on it as you thought. In relinquishing, you achieve a new level of freedom, and feel lighter, renewed and more alive. Related to all this, the eighth signifies mysteries such as death and resurrection, magic and the occult, and the deep parts of the psyche that are beyond our conscious grasp.

Pisces on the Eighth
You tend to have ambivalent feelings toward sexual matters. You regard sex as the “Magnum Mysterium” and spend much time and energy planning and yearning and longing for the ultimate consummation with your lover. You have such a romantic view of the process that you are often quite disappointed by its mechanics and tend to withdraw, preferring the grand illusion to the sweaty reality. When you have resources to invest — and you rarely do because you love to share what you have with others — you can be quite gullible and lose everything when you follow bad advice. Unless you feel very strongly about a particular investment, don’t part with your money.

Saturn in the Eighth
Your life is filled with major transformations and changes, but they usually have a negative effect on you. This is because you tend to regard any new direction as a death, an ending, and you grieve for what has now been lost. You must learn instead to regard them as births, as new beginnings or new directions that will present new challenges for you. Because of your fear of change, you tend to withdraw and are unwilling to share what you have with others. This overly cautious approach to resources has its good side, though — you are unusually well qualified to care for the property and resources of others.

Saturn in Pisces
Your tendency to think that your life is out of control is based on an unreasonable fear, probably connected with an unfortunate experience with the person who filled the father figure role in your early life. Learn to take responsibility here and now for your own life. Try to stop having unrealistic expectations about guide figures. Remember that they are merely human, with all the same faults and self-doubts that you have. When you get confused or uncertain, try to simplify your lifestyle — things will then become easier to bear.

House 9: Expanding Your Awareness
Approaching the highest point in the sky, the ninth house wafts you up and out of your rut, giving you a broad and lofty view of the terrain beneath. Whereas the third ruled basic schooling and short trips, the ninth rules higher education and long-distance travel. It removes you from your everyday routine so you can see the overall pattern, the overlooked connections between things. It rules all-embracing concepts (such as your philosophy of life) and institutions (like religion and law) that stand over society and keep it bound together. It can also signify your teachers and mentors, your library, and all else that broadens your outlook.

Aries on the Ninth
You are fascinated by any subject that will allow you to expand your awareness of the world around you. You are an avid student — you enthusiastically devote much time and energy to reading about such wide- ranging topics as literature, law, religion or metaphysics. Also, you have an innate restlessness that may attract you to traveling around quite a bit in order to discover things about exotic ideas and foreign lifestyles at first hand. You will also enthusiastically share what you know with others and may be attracted to the teaching profession. Because the kinds of things in which you are interested are limitless in scope, you will always have fuel for your insatiable curiosity.

No planets in the Ninth
Your ninth house is not activated by planetary activity. The extent and depth of your life philosophy and the intensity of your higher educational experiences are not major issues for you. Look to the house and aspects of Jupiter in your horoscope to get further information on how you deal with these issues.

House 10: Your Public Self
If the fourth house showed your roots and where you came from, the tenth shows what you are ultimately aiming at in life. Whereas the sixth shows your daily job and how you make a living, the tenth signifies your career, your personal contribution, your reputation and what you become known for. Some astrologers also believe that the fourth house signifies one parent, and the tenth signifies the other. The tenth-house parent is most likely the one who prepares you for the world. The closer a planet is to the Midheaven, the more likely that planet is to be the major significator of your life’s direction.

Taurus on the Tenth
Your need to find security may become your number one life goal. You are continually worried about the here and now — about making sure that your progression forward in life does not upset what you have spent a lifetime developing. You are cautious and conservative — at times so much so that you tend to get stuck in ruts that you have created. It is difficult for you to get yourself motivated to move in new directions — you must look to outside sources to provide the impetus to overcoming your inertia. Your lack of ability to tolerate change tends to make you fussy and particular and difficult to please. Because you are cautious by nature, you are generally quite good at professions that deal with money or finance.

Many planets in the Tenth
You want to get ahead in the world, to be noticed for your achievements, and you will work hard and long and tirelessly to achieve your goals. Your experience of your father (or the person who played that role in your life), whether it was positive or negative, will play a very important role in determining how you will react to the need for discipline and structure that will be required in order for you to realize your goals. You are at your best in highly structured situations and can be counted on to carry out a project fully and completely.

Moon in the Tenth
Your mother (or the person who provided comfort and nurture for you early in life) has been very important in shaping your life goals. Your heightened awareness of the needs of others allows you to be successful in most careers that involve a great deal of interaction with the public. It will, however, be a temptation for you to merely reflect the feelings and needs of others. Try to be yourself — your opinions and wants are important, too.

Moon in Taurus
Warmth, comfort, security and familiar surroundings are necessary for you to feel at ease. Very loving and affectionate, you prefer a steady, patterned way of life. Patient, calm and steadfast, you are not easily upset. Others look to you for support. You tend to be a slow starter and a slow mover — others may try to rush you, but they will never succeed. Emotionally, you are quite stubborn — your attitudes about people and things were firmly set in your youth and will change very little as an adult. You are also very cautious and conservative about spending money. It is not that you are selfish, you just need to feel secure. Beware of a tendency to become overly complacent and too self-satisfied.

Venus in the Tenth
You see the world as being a beautiful, friendly and enjoyable place. The warmth, love and support provided by your home situation as a young person has had a great influence on your outlook as an adult. But you are not very aggressive and tend to think that the world should come to you rather than you going out to it. One of your better qualities is your ability to relate well to others. You are quite popular due to your personal warmth and gracious charm. Careers that involve a great deal of interpersonal contact should appeal to you.

Venus in Gemini
You are friendly, warm, open and tolerant toward others. You love variety in relationships, indeed you may even prefer to maintain more than one relationship at a time. Very witty and humorous, you have the ability to amuse and please others. This makes you quite popular. You love to play the field and thus find it difficult to settle down and make any deep emotional commitments. Your innate charm and vivacity makes you welcome most everywhere you go.

Pluto in the Tenth
You very much want to be an important person — to be a leader in whatever you do. And you also want to change the world around you. As such, your career should have something to do with reforming, rebuilding or repairing things, ideas, institutions or people. Some excellent avenues in which to carry out these tasks would be in medicine or psychiatry or architecture. Be careful to work within the rules if you can. You are such a dominant and charismatic personality that you are bound to meet resistance and it will be even stronger if you use underhanded or manipulative tactics in order to get your own way.

Pluto in Gemini
You entire generation was born into a period of far-reaching and profound breakthroughs in the ability of people to communicate with each other. During one such period, at the turn of the twentieth century, the appearance of the telephone, the automobile and air travel ushered in the global village.

House 11: Your Circle of Acquaintances
The eleventh is the last house of relationships: not brothers, sisters and neighbors who just happen to be around you, not one-to-one partners, but the circle of friends and associates whom you actively choose. It shows the way you make and keep friendships, the organizations you join, the networking you do, and the general way you interact with groups. After you have established yourself as an individual and learned to form personal relationships with others, you are ready to think about the common good. This is why the eleventh often signifies groups dedicated to social or other sorts of collective improvement.

Gemini on the Eleventh
One of the ways that you get the mental stimulation that you need is by having a multitude of friends and associates. You are very active and love to do nothing better than go visiting and chat with those you know. You are a bit of a butterfly, always flitting from one person or group to another, never settling down and really getting involved. You tend to fear becoming emotionally involved with others so you like to keep things light, casual and superficial. You demand to be personally free to do as you wish, but you need the input of fresh ideas to keep your nervous energy flowing. You like to bounce ideas off others — try to take the time to listen to their concerns, too.

Sun in the Eleventh
A very social person, you like to be with your friends and associates. You have the gift to be able to subordinate your individual needs to the needs of a group. A willing team player, you are satisfied to either lead or follow within a group structure according to the needs of the group. Within the structure of your chosen peer group, you tend to be unselfish, fair and impartial, but you may be less than tolerant of others whose goals are different from your own.

Sun in Cancer
Very emotional and sensitive, you have an intuitive understanding of the “vibes” around you. You tend to be quite generous, giving, loving and caring, but only when your own needs for emotional support, love and security have been met. If they are not met, you tend to withdraw into yourself and become very insecure and selfish. Your home and family (especially your mother or the person who played that role for you early on) represent security for you and thus assume a larger-than-life importance. Very sentimental, you have vivid and long-enduring memories of the past. No matter how well adjusted you are, you will always need a secret quiet place of your own in order to feel at peace. Feeding others can give you great pleasure you would enjoy being part of a large family.

Jupiter in the Eleventh
Very gregarious, you like being with others and enjoy nothing better than having a good time. You may find that those you attract are socially prominent or that they bring material advantage to you. If so, it is because they are attracted by the generous, noble, openhearted attitude that you display. You enjoy sharing whatever you have (and it might well be a great deal) with others who share similar humanitarian interests.

Jupiter in Cancer
You must be emotionally secure in order to grow and develop. You are happiest when your family and community support and nourish you and boost your morale. Whether your childhood experiences of love and emotional dependability were positive or negative will set the tone for your emotional growth and stability as an adult. When you feel at ease with yourself, you are able to offer assistance to those who need a helping hand.

Neptune in the Eleventh
You are very idealistic (and also at times very unrealistic) about your friends and associates. They are probably not as perfect as you hope that they are. Try to be as discriminating as possible in your choice of friends, especially those whom you trust with your most sacred confidences, because they might be less scrupulous than you are and they may abuse your faith and trust. Your friends may become very dependent on you because of your sympathetic and unselfish nature. You gladly sacrifice your time and energy working for groups that espouse humanitarian or charitable goals.

Neptune in Cancer
You, and your entire generation, tend to over-idealize the home, the past and other traditional values. This fosters isolationism and protectionism in the political sense. One’s zeal to bring one’s own racial or cultural heritage to the forefront may become subject to the same excesses as those of the ultra-nationalist movements of the 1920’s through the 1940’s, unless the rights of individuals and dissidents are fiercely protected as well.

North Node in the Eleventh
You’re at your best when meeting others, especially those who are outside your immediate family environment. You prefer the social whirl — meeting new and interesting people stimulates your imagination and makes you feel alive. However, you’re usually not a casual joiner — you like to dig right in and be of assistance in helping the group meet its goals. You have many friends and acquaintances, and it takes some doing just trying to fit them all in to your busy social schedule.

North Node in Cancer
You genuinely enjoy meeting other people, but you’re at your best if you can do so in the comfort of your own home. Not liking to leave your home or neighborhood for any extended period of time, you prefer others to come to you. Those who do come in contact with you are struck by your caring and obliging nature. You really do make them feel at home. You form the closest ties, however, with members of your immediate family, especially your parents and children. You’re at your best when attending or organizing family reunions.

House 12: The Hidden You
The twelfth house is where planets go just after they have risen. Here planets are still wet behind the ears, blinking in the sunlight and unsteady on their feet. Feeling completely vulnerable, planets in the twelfth tend to hide. Their energies can become repressed and secretive, and sometimes they lurk as complexes in the subconscious. This is why the twelfth is associated with self-sabotage, with hidden enemies, and with prison and whatever else makes you feel confined. The traditional association with hospitals and prisons suggest that constructive ways of dealing with twelfth-house problems include helping others who are similarly repressed or confined. Also, some with a strong twelfth-house emphasis become successful as undercover workers or as the power behind the throne.

Cancer on the Twelfth
You are normally so self-directed and in control of your life that you often surprise yourself when you fall into fits of depression or moodiness. At heart, you are quite sentimental and very sensitive to criticism even though you usually give the appearance of total self-confidence. What upsets you the most is that you do not trust these feelings — it is as if they were betraying you to yourself. Learn to realize that you are a complex personality with many facets and that this is one of the more important parts of your psyche. Learn to wear your heart on your sleeve once in a while — you will be surprised how sympathetic others will be.

Mercury in the Twelfth
You tend to be secretive, not wanting others to know what you are thinking. This is probably because you are afraid that your ideas are not worthy to be heard or discussed. You tend to enjoy constructing a private fantasy world into which you can escape. The danger of this is that others may take your quietness for aloofness or snobbery and may start to distrust you. Another danger is that you may become overly dependent on your inner world and become fearful of everyday reality. Learn to trust others more. You will be surprised to learn that they are as full of self-doubt as you are.

Mercury in Leo
You appreciate truth and honesty, not only practicing it yourself but also expecting it in others. You are usually convinced that your own ideas are correct, and you enjoy persuading others of their correctness. In fact, you can be stubborn about your beliefs and principles, and can get defensive when they are challenged. You also have a talent for organizing, directing and planning, and take delight in being asked for your advice and counsel.

A Mirror of Your Uniqueness
This report is based on the position of the Sun, Moon and planets at the moment of your birth, as seen from the point on Earth where you were born. Such an arrangement of planets and stars will never be repeated in exactly the same form. Like the genes that determine your body and temperament, your astrological chart is made up of the same basic parts that other humans have, but the arrangement of these parts is uniquely your own.

You could think of your birth moment as a seed that contains the potential for how you will unfold. The arrangement of the planets at your birth does not, however, cause your body structure and temperament in the way that the patterning of your DNA causes it. Instead, the planetary positions at your birth employ the language of symbols to mirror who you are. Like a mirror, your chart enables you to see yourself from outside yourself, and it therefore extends your point of view.

To use a different analogy, your chart shows the deck you’ve been dealt, the raw materials you are given from which to fashion a life. Nobody’s perfect: we are all given our special problems to solve and our special strengths and beauties. In knowing what you have to work with, you will be better able to make use of your gifts, fill in (or at least be comfortable about) what you lack, and grow in the life directions that are right for you and you alone.

Instead of assuming that there is one norm for everyone, astrology attempts to show the special pattern that is right for you. In doing so, it can give you clues as to how you can more fully and consciously fill the unique role that you have been given in this lifetime, and enrich the world with the gifts that only you can bestow.
