Introduction
The report that you are about to read is a first step in decoding the symbolic language of your birth chart. It explains the raw materials that you have been given for building a life. It outlines how the overall shape of your chart reflects the overall shape of your personality, what your greatest challenges are likely to be, the strengths you have been given to meet these challenges, and the main arenas you are given for playing out your life’s drama.

In this report you may notice certain places where the information seems to be contradictory. This is to be expected, because people are complex. For example, in some situations we are shy and in others, aggressive. When you see repeated patterns, though, take special note: these are apt to be the dominant themes in your life.

The Main Emphasis in Your Chart
The general distribution of planets around you at your birth is one of the things that shows the overall shape of your personality. Before taking a closer look at the details, let’s stand back for a moment to see whether your chart contains any obvious emphasis in a sign, group of signs, or other division of the horoscope wheel.

Most planets are in the eastern half of the chart.
You prefer to be in charge of your own destiny, rather than following someone else's dreams, adventures, projects or proposals. This tends to make you an outgoing, active person, in charge of your affairs. Independent and outwardly directed, you are conscious of the direction in which you lead your life. An entrepreneurial pursuit of some type will find you at your best. You need followers to help you, so be sure that you attract those who are willing to follow your vision. Be clear, however, as to who is in charge. Joining forces with someone as strong-minded as you may cause the kind of stress that will distract you from your goals. With many planets in either Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, you are likely to be one of the original self-starters. Passionate and full of strong feelings and ideals, you do not need external stimuli to get you moving in new directions. Drama is your mantra. Aspects: Keys to Your Inner Drama
In your birth chart, the Sun, Moon and planets play the central role. They are the actors in the drama, the moving figures on the stage, each with a character of its own. How these characters relate to each other, whether and how they clash or harmonize, whether they bring out each other’s best or worst qualities, is shown by the aspects, or angles, between the planets.

Is the ongoing drama between two planets a continuing tension that periodically erupts into crises (conjunctions, oppositions and squares), a harmonious alliance where the two planets aid and abet each other (trines and sextiles), an uneasy truce full of ambiguities (certain other aspects in neither of these families), or simply indifference (no aspect at all)? Below you will see which pairs of planets are in aspect in your chart.

Each of the following sections lists the aspects in order of their general importance, with aspects involving the Sun, Moon and fast-moving planets coming first. You can get a further idea of their importance in your particular chart by going to the aspect table at the beginning of this report and finding the five or so aspects with the smallest number of degrees and minutes in the “The orb is” column.

Your Major Challenges
We start with your conjunctions, oppositions and squares because these tend to point out the challenges that you have been set in life. Mose people experience these aspects as problems, at least at first. Armed with awareness, however, you can come to view these so-called “ hard” aspects as the blessings that they really are. These are the forces that spur you forward. When you face the challenges that these aspects pose, you grow in strength, confidence, wisdom and maturity.

Sun conjunct Venus
Others immediately notice your warm and friendly manner. You are the first to go out of your way to make others feel comfortable and accepted. Blessed are the peacemakers, and you are one. This is a great gift. Just be sure that you do not always compromise your own needs, or others (who might not be as nice as you are) may walk all over you.

Sun opposite Saturn
The weight of the world seems to be on your shoulders, and you sometimes resent it. It seems that every time you get comfortable and start to feel secure, something happens to make things more and more emotionally complicated. Your quick, agile mind usually has no problem steering a correct path through the mountains of new and exciting information that you deal with as a normal part of your routine. You are a born investigator, relishing the process of digging deep into a subject and finding out the root causes. Also, you have the ability to express your ideas to others very powerfully, especially if you are totally absorbed in the subject at hand. You can form other peoples’ ideas. This is a powerful gift, one that can easily be abused. Be careful that your intensity and desire to convince do not cause you to manipulate others by doing anything that even hints at loss of personal integrity. If you do not keep this in mind, you will unleash forces of resistance that you will probably not care to deal with.

Others provide you with the constant intellectual stimulation that you need in order to feel comfortable. You are a fund of information for others, too. They seek you out because you are usually up to date on all the currently interesting topics. You need the give and take that sharing ideas with others provides. Known for your wit and sparkling conversation, you nevertheless have to avoid the tendency to chatter mindlessly or to indulge in rumor and gossip.

Venus opposite Saturn
You distrust enthusiastic displays of affection. You fear being regarded as immature or silly, and tend to maintain a cool and emotionally detached demeanor. If you control and manipulate others and use underhanded or unethical tactics, you force others to be as violent and dictatorial as yourself. You have the energy and ability to defend yourself and those who need your help. But you need not make this defensive posturing and hostility a career. Your tendency to be bad-tempered and resentful and bullying leads to many fights and quarrels and hassles. Uranus conjunct Midheaven
Do not try to make long-range plans with respect to traditional career or life goals, because it just will not happen that way! You are much too independent and outspoken to fit into a common mold. You love a challenge. Your path will become clear to you as you realize that you have chosen to attempt something that has never been tried before. Others will admire you for your decision to go it alone, but some (those who insist on doing things the “usual” way) will regard you as a threat and try to block you. That just comes with the territory.

Pluto conjunct Ascendant
You are known to others as a charismatic, powerful person with the ability to accomplish just about anything that you care to do. Others trust and respect you because you understand their deepest needs. Indeed, you have an abiding interest in human psychology — people (and their motivations) fascinate you. Because you understand people so well, there will be a big temptation to use this knowledge to your own advantage by manipulating others to accomplish your desired ends. Be careful of this or you may find that the trust and respect you enjoy will disappear and be replaced by suspicion and fear.

Your Sustaining Strengths
Trines and sextiles tend to work with a natural harmony that calls for little effort on your part. They show the things that you just seem naturally good at. Usually they point to the more positive parts of your nature, and act as support that you can call on in difficult times.

Because these aspects are so comfortable, they are not likely to push you to expand your limits or cause you to change. It is actually helpful to have a balance of hard aspects (like oppositions and squares) to stimulate you to grow, and soft aspects (trines and sextiles) to ease your passage and provide places to rest.

If you are blessed with a predominance of trines and sextiles, your life may tend to be placid and your nature serene. If so, remember that the world around you is probably sorely in need of these qualities that are yours to bestow.

You are known for the balanced and cheerful way you go through life. Probably, your early upbringing took place in a relatively stress-free environment, with both parental figures happy and secure in their roles. Physically, you are full of vital energy and, for the most part, are quite coordinated. Two other families of so-called “minor” aspects add yet more information about the way the planets relate to each other in your chart. Semisquares and sesquares (also known as sesquiquadrates) share the dynamic, crisis-prone nature of the square but need to be quite exact in order to be felt.

Semisextiles and quincunxes connect signs that are totally unrelated to each other. They can have an odd, unsettling quality, indicating problems or issues that it’s hard to get a grip on. They are like interesting puzzles that call for a creative solution.

Sun semisquare Chiron
Poor self-worth may drive you to spend time alone pondering your future. You are afraid of being criticized, since it evokes feelings of ineptness and shame. It is of utmost importance for you to gain confidence, because then you may utilize your superb management and organizational skills. Your need to be in control makes it easy for you either to work alone or to be self-employed. Sticking to your guns is admirable, but insisting that you are always right alienates too many people. Learning to roll with the punches makes you a better teacher and communicator.

Mercury semisquare Neptune
You have a vivid imagination. Your inner visions are so compelling that you can find it difficult to separate them from the real world outside. You have ambiguous feelings about relationships. On the one hand, you want the security and warmth of knowing that your beloved cares for you as much as you do for him or her. But, on the other hand, you are so distrustful of your beloved (and yourself) that you are always interfering in his or her life to the extent of trying to manipulate emotional responses, pushing your lover from feelings of guilt to feelings of joy in an attempt to constantly stay in his or her consciousness. You must learn to trust your lover more if you would not experience the continuing remorse at watching yourself behave in such an underhanded manner.

Venus semisextile Ascendant
You need relationships to feel alive, but often you shun them because you do not feel that you are worthy enough to share yourself with others. You tend to think so little of yourself that you will only enter relationships where you serve others unstintingly, without asking anything in return. This bothers you because you know that you have real needs and you keep hoping that those you serve will notice them spontaneously. When they don’t, you withdraw even more and the pattern becomes reinforced. You must learn to stick up for yourself. You will be surprised at how relieved your beloved will be when you put aside your fawning ways for a while.

Jupiter sesquare Saturn
You have a balanced and levelheaded outlook on life that allows you to make the correct decision at the correct time. Indeed, you are well-known for your good sense of timing and are often sought out to administer important projects where planning and scheduling are key issues. You often find it difficult to relate easily to others, including those that you care deeply about.
