Astrological Compatibility Research Results |
Results for the Astro Compatibility Research
Project highlighted on this website over the past several years have
now been tallied.
For the first time, we had many research volunteers from the
astrological community signed on and actively participating in the
data gathering process for a research activity designed to
statistically test astrological assumptions. The research team is
grateful for the high level of individual support this activity has
received; this was a lot of work by many very committed people. |
| Advancing an AstroSignature for Alcohol Abuse |
The astrological factors that contribute to alcohol abuse were investigated in this study. Two goals guided this project: to retest the astrological factors that Mitchell Gibson found to be associated with addictive disorders and to advance an AstroSignature for alcohol abuse using the AstroDatabank 4.0 factor analysis module. The new signature (based on the tropical zodiac) proposes thirty astrological rules or markers to identify alcohol abuse. |
Alcoholism 1:
Control Group |
In working with a control group, you learn to save half of your data (randomly selected) to compare with your experimental group. |
Alcoholism 2:
Jung |
We explore the Jungian concept of alcoholism; alcoholism as a distorted search for spiritual wholeness. We count Neptune and Pisces factors among alcoholics and compare this to the control we developed in the previous Alcoholism study. |
Alcoholism 3:
C.E.O. Carter |
Testing C.E.O. Carter's formula for alcoholism. |
| Alcoholism 4: Testing Reader Suggestions |
We create AstroSignature rules from the suggestions we've received, then test them using the AstroDatabank software. |
| Astrologically Predictable Patterns in Work Related Injuries |
An exhaustively-researched study correlating work-related injuries to natal and transiting Sun aspects. |
| The Astrology of Astrologers |
AstroDatabank’s release 4.0 with its new factor analysis module was used to develop an AstroSignature for Astrologers. The common assumption that a Uranian theme is prominent in the charts of astrologers was tested. |

| Investigating
Psychic Ability: Advancing an AstroSignature |
This article
is a step-by-step example in building an AstroSignature using
AstroDatabank Version 4. The article explores “psychic ability” as a
topic. We trust this will be helpful in guiding you to develop your
own research project. We encourage you to follow using AstroDatabank
Version 4 software so you can get used to the steps necessary in
developing your own research project. |

Research Design
|
Last month we reviewed the broad standards by which research endeavors are critiqued.
The research design must address the important issues of validity, transferability,
reliability and replication--the criteria we use to judge the value and usefulness of
our research endeavors. Astrological research designs must also honor the integrity of
the astrological paradigm. In this month’s article, the AstroSignature research design
is presented, one that integrates qualitative and quantitative analysis, as a valid
model for doing astrological research.

| Research Step by Step: Investigating Psychic Ability in the Birth Chart |
We explore the research process and define some key concepts. Based on the emails I receive, many of you are eager to investigate various facets of astrology. At the same time, because you aren’t familiar with the research process you don’t know where to begin. So this month, the research process will be outlined. |
