AstroDatabank Newsmaker: Marion Jones

Marion Jones, the sports phenomenon, former Olympics medalist, and media darling, is our newsmaker this week. Tall and attractive, with her charming smile and competitive drive, she set out to win. In a relatively short career, she stunned the world with her record-setting, medal-earning performance. Amidst her wonderful achievements and lucrative contracts for product endorsements, rumors of drug use abounded. Late last year (2007) she admitted to lying to federal prosecutors about her use of illegal performance-enhancing drugs and about her knowledge of a check-fraud scheme. Stripped of her medals and financially broke, she reported to jail recently to serve her six-month sentence. Let's study her chart for the astrological indicators of this remarkable story.

What Do You Think?

1. We first note the exact conjunction of Uranus to her Scorpio Ascendant. Uranus is rather precisely squared by Saturn in conjunction to her 10th house cusp (Equal House System) and Midheaven. What do these placements and aspects tell us about her and her life? What might they foretell in terms of her life events, both positive and negative?
2. As you study her biography and life events, where does the 12th house Libran Sun in opposition to Jupiter show up?
3. Sometimes after a great fall from grace, there is great redemption. Are there such themes in her chart? If at this point in her life she consulted with you about her future, how would you describe the possibilities and potential shown in her birth chart?

It's been a long time coming, but it is here. When Solar Fire Gold was released a number of months ago, AstroDatabank users immediately noticed that Solar Fire Gold would not open and operate from within AstroDatabank. We have finally retro-fitted a new patch and it is available at AstroDatabank and the link below.

While AstroDatabank is used by over 3,000 customers, the many new astrology programs have developed file structures different than their previous versions. AstroDatabank learns of new programming typically after new programs go on sale or are being developed. While we regret we cannot accommodate every file structure of every program, AstroDatabank will try to accommodate new file structures on a case by case basis. Your support of software purchases at the Astrology Software Shop will help us stay compatible with your favorite software.

1. Where in Heston's chart do you see the magnificent voice, the career in acting, his varied talents, interests and activities?
