Affleck, Violet
The first child of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner arrived on December
1, 2005 at 6:26 PM EST in Los Angeles (3:26 PM PST), according to news
reports citing the couple's publicists. Ben Affleck's record has also
been updated.
Aguilera, Christina
The singer married Jordan Bratman, a music executive, on November 19,
2005 in Rutherford, CA.
Blake, Robert
Eight months after being acquitted of murdering his wife, the actor
was found liable in the civil suit that charged him with her wrongful
death. The judgment rendered on November 18, 2005 in Burbank, CA awards
Bonny Lee Bakley's children $30 million in damages.
O'Brien, Conan
He and his wife Lisa had their second child, a son they named
Beckett, on November 9, 2005 at 8:27 PM EST in New York City, according
to news reports.
Sayako, Princess
In a first for Japan, this emperor's daughter married a commoner on
November 15, 2005 in Tokyo, thereby giving up her royal title. The
groom is Yoshiki Kuroda, her childhood friend, now an urban planner.
Sharon, Ariel
On November 21, 2005, Sharon announced that he was leaving the
Likkud party in order to form a new political party. Mr. Sharon said
the party, named Kadima ("Forward"), will focus on peace with the
Palestinians and Israeli security. It is expected that the new party
will be more centrist in its approach than Likkud on the right or
the Labour Party on the left.
We've also updated the source notes in Sharon's entry in the
AstroDatabank program after Meira Epstein wrote that the Knesset
lists Sharon's birth date as the 26th of February. At this point we
have not received word as to whether this is a typographical error
or a fact. Other sources (including The Jerusalem Virtual Library,
MidEast Web.org, and The Washington Post) agree with AstroDatabank's
information, giving his birth date as the 27th. The original source
of AstroDatabank's data is Sharon's mother as quoted by Isaac
Starkman.
Woodward, Bob
On November 3, 2005 the investigative reporter himself became news
when he revealed that he had learned the identity of an undercover CIA
agent from a government official, weeks before her identity was
disclosed publicly in the press. His startling revelation came a week
after a grand jury investigation into the leak ended with an indictment
for Scooter Libby for obstructing justice. On November 14, 2005,
Woodward's deposition was taken under oath but he reportedly did not
give his source's name, citing confidentiality.
