New
York’s mayor announced on June 19, 2007 that he was ending his
affiliation with the Republican Party. He declared himself an
Independent, sparking speculation that he might run for US President in
2008.
Ferre, Gianfranco
The
fashion designer died on June 17, 2007 at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan
where he had been taken after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. He

Franklin, Kenneth
On
June 17, 2007 the 84-year-old astronomer died of complications following
heart surgery in Boulder, CO. His New York Times obituary placed the
time of his death “when the sun rose in New York at 5:07 AM.”
Gordon, Jeff
He and
his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, on June 20, 2007 at

Graham, Billy
Billy
Graham’s beloved wife Ruth died at their home in Little Piney Cove, NC
on June 14, 2007, at 5:05 PM. She had been bedridden for months with
degenerative osteoarthritis and had been battling a recent case of
pneumonia. The day prior to her death she had fallen into a coma after
she decided to discontinue taking nutrients via her feeding-tube.
Kennedy, Joseph Patrick II
In late June
2007, it was revealed that the annulment of his first marriage had been
rescinded by the Vatican. Kennedy had apparently known of this for some
time before the Vatican’s decision was announced in the media.
Murphy, Eddie
Murphy denied for
weeks that a child delivered to former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, wasn’t
his.
Iris-Angel Murphy
Brown was born in Santa Monica, CA on April 3, 2007 at 12:11 AM,
according to her birth certificate in hand.
In late June
2007, a DNA report confirmed Murphy’s paternity of the little baby girl.
Roberts, Julia
She and her
husband welcomed the newest addition to their family, a son named Henry
Daniel Moder, born on June 18, 2007 in Los Angeles “early in the
morning.”
Rushdie, Salman
The author in
exile was knighted by Queen Elizabeth on June 15 2007. This latest honor
sparked new calls for his death by Islamic militants.
Stewart, Rod
The
singer married
Penelope Lancaster on June 16, 2007 at 10 AM in Santa

Waldheim, Kurt
The
88-year-old Waldheim died of heart failure on June 14, 2007 in Vienna,
Austria.
Woods, Tiger
Woods and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter named Sam
Alexis Woods, born “early Monday morning” on June 18, 2007 according to
Woods on his website.
